The Fjord City is an urban renewal project for the waterfront part of the centre of Oslo, Norway. The first redevelopment was at Aker Brygge during the 1980s. Bjørvika and Tjuvholmen followed up during the 2000s, while the remaining parts of the Port of Oslo will be developed in the 2010s. The port will be relocated to Sørhavna. The planning is performed by the Oslo Waterfront Planning Office. Major investments in the area include a new Central Railway Station, an already completed Oslo Opera House, and the commercial buildings in the Barcode Project. Several large cultural institutions will be moved to Bjørvika, including moving the Oseberg Ship, Oslo Public Library, and the Munch Museum. The main barrier between the city and the fjord will disappear when European Route E18 is relocated to the Bjørvika Tunnel.

Jomfrubråten is a residential area of Nordstrand in Oslo, Norway. It is located approximately 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) away from the city centre. The area was disintegrated from Ekeberg in 1920, and made a residential area when the Ekeberg Line opened in 1917. A station with the same name serves the area on the Ekeberg Line, and formerly on the Simensbråten Line, but the latter line was closed in 1967.
Ekeberghallen, also known as Ekeberg idrettshall, is an indoor sports arena located at Ekebergsletta in the neighborhood of Ekeberg in the Nordstrand district of Oslo, Norway. Ekebergsletta is part of the Oslo park system and is used primarily for sporting events.
Ormøya is an inhabited island in the inner part of Oslofjord, in the municipality of Oslo. It is located north of the island Malmøya and west of the mainland at Bekkelaget / Nordstrand. A bridge over the strait Ormsundet connects the island to the mainland. The island covers an area of 0.18 square kilometres (0.069 sq mi) Ormøy Church, designed by architect Bernhard Steckmest, was built in the 1890s. On the island there are beaches, boating ports and a small park.
Ljan is a residential neighborhood in the borough Nordstrand in Oslo, Norway. It is located in the eastern rolling hillsides of the fjord Bunnefjorden. To the south Ljanselva which begins at Lutvann has its mouth, and where it runs through Liadalen at Ljan it also constitutes the border with borough Søndre Nordstrand. The number of inhabitants was about 3,500 in 2004. Ljan Church is known as one of the very few churches in Norway that was built in the 1930s in the Romanesque Revival style. The public beaches at Ljan are Hvervenbukta, Ljansbadet and Katten, and in addition there are a number of private bath houses along Mosseveien. The borders to the north and east are less obvious and drawn between the school circuits Ljan and Nordstrand. The name originates with an Old Norse river name Ljǫrn but the meaning has been lost to time.
Bekkelaget Station was a railway station on the Østfold Line. It was located at Nedre Bekkelaget in the Nordstrand borough of Oslo, Norway. It was originally situated 3.34 kilometers (2.08 mi) from Oslo Central Station and received a station building designed by Peter Andreas Blix. It was named Bækkelaget until 1921.
The Oslo Central Station bombing was a bomb attack on the central train station of Oslo, the capital of Norway, on 2 July 1982. The homemade bomb was hidden in a locker at Østbanehallen and the explosion caused extensive damage to the station. A young woman, Elin Stoltenberg Dahl was killed.
