Belinda Barbara Chapple (born 15 January 1975) is an Australian singer, creative director and interior designer. [1] She is a former member of female pop group Bardot.
Chappel's pop music career began in 1995 during a brief stint as a member of Australian girl group GF4, following Jacqueline Cowell's departure. [2] Chapple recorded demos with the group, but they broke up in 1996 before she had the opportunity to release music with them. [3] In October 1999, at the age of 24, Chapple auditioned for the first Australian series of Popstars , a reality television show which sought to produce a new girl group. Chapple was selected from over 2,000 girls that auditioned across Australia, and formed part of the group Bardot.
Popstars was one of the highest-rating television programs in Australia of 2000 and with this exposure, Bardot's debut single "Poison" and self-titled debut album both entered the Australian ARIA charts at number one, achieving multi-platinum sales and three ARIA Music Award nominations. In 2001 Bardot released their second album, Play It Like That , which included the singles "ASAP" and "I Need Somebody", both which charted in the Australian top five. During their time together, Bardot performed two concert tours across Australia and made promotional visits to Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, New Zealand, India and the United Kingdom. In 2002, the group disbanded, leaving Chapple "shell-shocked" and "heartbroken". [1]
After Bardot's split, Chapple released two solo singles – "Where It All Began", a ballad inspired by the Athens Olympic Games, in August 2004 and the dance track "Move Together" in April 2005. "Move Together" peaked at number 26 on the ARIA Singles Chart. [4]
Chapple then moved onto working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. She relocated to Singapore for several years, where she was a creative director for Ice TV's Asia's Next Top Model and Company Manager for the talent at Universal Studios Singapore. In 2014, she was creative director of the short-lived Las Vegas stage show, Sydney After Dark. [5]
She later studied interior design at the National Design Academy in the United Kingdom and since 2017, has operated her own interior design business, House of Chapple. [1]
In April 2020, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Bardot's debut single "Poison", Chapple and former bandmates Tiffani Wood and Katie Underwood reunited remotely online to perform the song. [6] In September 2021, it was announced that Chapple and Underwood would professionally reunite as a music duo under the name Ka'Bel, with their debut single "Broken Hearted" released on 15 October 2021. [7]
In 2023 Chapple published a memoir outlining her time in Bardot called The Girl in the Band. [8] The book became the basis of the 2023 fictional television series Paper Dolls , of which Chapple served as executive producer. [9] [10]

Tiffany "Tiffani" Jane Wood is an Australian singer and songwriter, and former member of female pop group Bardot.
Bardot was an Australian pop girl group which formed in 1999, consisting of Belinda Chapple, Sophie Monk, Sally Polihronas, Katie Underwood and Tiffani Wood. The group formed on the Australian reality television series Popstars, which attracted high ratings and significant media exposure. This resulted in the instant success of Bardot's debut single "Poison" and debut album Bardot (2000), both which entered the Australian and New Zealand charts at number 1.
Scott Cain is an Australian singer and TV presenter. In 2002 he won the third Australian Popstars TV talent competition. His debut solo album, Controlled Folly, peaked in the ARIA Albums Chart top 50. Its lead single, "I'm Moving On", reached number one on the related ARIA Singles Chart. While competing on Popstars, the Final 7 contestants released a compilation single with each providing a cover version of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition", which peaked at number seven. His wife, Danielle Stearman, was a fellow contestant on Popstars, the couple have two children together.
Baby Animals is an Australian hard rock band active from October 1989 to 1996 and reformed in 2007. The original line-up was Frank Celenza on drums; Suze DeMarchi on lead vocals and guitar; Dave Leslie on guitar and backing vocals; and Eddie Parise on bass guitar and backing vocals. They recorded two studio albums, Baby Animals – which peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and Shaved and Dangerous – which reached No. 2. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1992 the group won three trophies: Album of the Year and Breakthrough Artist – Album for Baby Animals and Breakthrough - Single for "Early Warning". Baby Animals was listed in 100 Best Australian Albums. The reunited line-up are DeMarchi, Leslie, Dario Bortolin on bass guitar and Mick Skelton on drums and percussion. Their fourth studio album, This Is Not the End, was issued in May 2013, which reached the top 20.

Tamara Jaber is an Australian recording artist who rose to fame in the early 2000s as a winner on the hit TV show Popstars. She was a member of the pop group Scandal'us. Following the disbandment of Scandal'us in 2002, Jaber signed to record label King Kyle Records and released two solo singles "Ooh Ahh" and "Hard for Me". In 2007, she became a member of the pop duo Scarlett Belle, before resuming her solo career in 2011. Jaber released her debut extended play Felt, Not Heard through US independent label in November 2012.

Sandy Mölling is a German singer and television personality. She rose to fame as one of the members of the girl group No Angels, which were formed in 2000 on the German television talent show Popstars, becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of European origin of all time. During their hiatus, Mölling released a solo album, Unexpected (2004), which produced the top ten singles "Unnatural Blonde" and "Tell Me", and became a judge on the fourth season of Popstars.
Indecent Obsession were an Australian pop rock band formed early in 1987 in Brisbane with founding mainstays Daryl Sims on drums and Michael Szumowski on keyboards. By 1988 the line-up also included Andrew Coyne on lead guitar and David Dixon on lead vocals. They released three studio albums, Spoken Words and Indio, both reached the top 50 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In 1990 Spoken Words was repackaged for United States market as Indecent Obsession, which reached the Billboard 200. In May 1989 they issued their debut single, "Say Goodbye", which peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Singles Chart – their highest position in Australia. Their second single, "Tell Me Something" (September), reached No. 17 nationally. When issued in the US it peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached No. 1 in Indonesia and Hong Kong, and Top 10 in Japan and South Africa. For the Asian market the band used the shortened name, Obsession. In 1992 they were the first Western act to tour South Africa after the lifting of the cultural isolation during the apartheid era. They were "greeted by screaming fans and scenes of mass hysteria", both their second album, Indio, and one of its singles, "Kiss Me", peaked at No. 1 on the relevant South African charts. By 1993 Sims and Szumowski were joined by Mark Gray on bass guitar, Richard Hennassey on lead vocals and Graham Kearns on lead guitar. The following year they issued another studio album, Relativity, before disbanding a year later.

5 Seconds of Summer is the debut studio album by Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer. It was released by Capitol Records on 27 June 2014 in Europe and on 22 July 2014 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The album was supported by four singles: "She Looks So Perfect", "Don't Stop", "Amnesia", and "Good Girls". Musically, the album is rooted in the pop punk, pop rock and power pop genres. Before the album's release, the band was the opening act for One Direction in from 2013-2015 on three of their concert tours. To promote the album, 5 Seconds of Summer embarked on their first global headlining tour, entitled Rock Out with Your Socks Out Tour, between May and September 2015.
