Below Par Records is an Australian independent record label established in 2000 by three sixteen-year-old Sydney high-school students, Jai Al-Attas, Mark Catanzariti and Steven Chalker.

In 2001, Matt Hawkes replaced Steven Chalker as the third partner. Below Par Records won the Nescafe Big Break competition in 2002 [1] and, in 2003, Below Par Records went into a label development deal with Eleven owned by John Watson and Melissa Chenery. In 2005 Below Par Records started an imprint called OK!Relax in which they released records by The Scare and Die!Die!Die!. Today, Below Par Records is home to gold-selling artist Kisschasy as well as Something With Numbers, The Scare and Teenage Fairytale Dropouts. Below Par Records is distributed by Virgin/EMI in Australia and New Zealand.

Something with Numbers is a rock band based in Australia. The band was formed on the New South Wales Central Coast, in Australia, in 2001. Something with Numbers found success in 2006, with the release of "Apple of the Eye ", which peaked at No. 34 on the ARIA Singles Chart, and placed No. 64 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2006.

"Do-Do's & Whoa-Oh's" is the first single taken from Australian rock band Kisschasy's debut album, United Paper People (2005). It was released on 4 July 2005 and peaked at number 25 on the Australian Singles Chart. The single was nominated for "Best Breakthrough Artist – Single" in the 2005 ARIA awards. The music video features the band on an ice skating rink, spontaneously appearing and moving around the rink.

Kisschasy songwriter Darren Cordeux said in press release track notes, "It is a song about being happy with who you are and not letting other people's opinions of who you are or what you do affect you. At the end of the day what people think doesn't mean anything at all. People thought the world was flat once."

Hymns for the Nonbeliever is the second studio album by the Australian band Kisschasy, released on 21 July 2007. On 29 July, Hymns for the Nonbeliever debuted in the ARIA Albums Chart at number five, staying on the chart for nine weeks, three weeks longer than their first album United Paper People. The album is said to cover "global politics, animal cruelty, religion, love and deception". Lead singer Darren Cordeux has also stated, "If I was to describe the album in one word I would call it an "Awakening". An awakening to ourselves, our music, and to the world around us".

The Across the Great Divide tour was a concert tour by Australian alternative rock bands Powderfinger and Silverchair in 2007. The tour featured concerts in 26 towns across Australia and multiple shows in New Zealand. According to Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning, the aim of the tour was to "show [that] both bands are behind the idea of reconciliation". Both bands aimed to increase awareness of the efforts of Reconciliation Australia to reduce the current 17-year gap in life expectancy between the average Australian life and that of Indigenous Australians. A triple DVD set was released with the same title as the tour on 1 December 2007 with the Melbourne performances for both bands and backstage occurrences from the tour.

Now Winter 2006 is a compilation CD released by Festival Mushroom Records, Warner Bros. & EMI in 2006. It is the 13th CD in the Australian Now! series. The album reached number 12 on the 2006 ARIA Year End Compilation Album chart and was certified platinum.

Jai Al-Attas is the co-founder and co-owner of Australian independent label Below Par Records and the writer and director of the 2009 documentary film One Nine Nine Four.

OK!Relax is an imprint label of Below Par Records. It was created in 2005 and so far has released records by Die! Die! Die! and The Scare.

Angelas Dish is an Australian indie pop band from the Central Coast of New South Wales, formed in 2003. The four-piece currently consists of songwriting duo, brothers Michael and Joshua Harris, teamed up with bassist Peter Clarke, and drummer Christopher Allison. Michael Harris is the lead singer and most experienced musician of the group. There has been ongoing tension between the brothers, as Joshua has often lived in the shadow of his older sibling, as a result, Joshua Harris has made several solo albums.

<i>Engineering the Soul</i> 2008 studio album by Something with Numbers

Engineering the Soul is the third studio album by Australian punk rock band Something with Numbers. It was released through Below Par Records on 6 September 2008. In reference to the title of the album, lead vocalist of Something with Numbers Jake Grigg said, "Music is what powers the soul. We make the music. We are engineering the soul".

<i>Seizures</i> (album) 2009 studio album by Kisschasy

Seizures is the third and final studio album by Australian rock band Kisschasy, released through Below Par Records on 21 August 2009. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rob Schnapf.

The Channel V Oz Artist of the Year was an annual award presented by Channel V Australia and is voted by the Australian public, and is awarded to the artist on the same day as the annual ARIA Music Awards presentation events. Since its inauguration in 1997, Silverchair has won the Artist of the Year award for six consecutive years, from 1997 to 2002.
