The BenCab Museum is an art museum in Tuba, Benguet, Philippines. [1]
The construction of the BenCab Museum's building began in 2006. [2] The museum institution itself was established in 2009 by National Artist Benedicto Cabrera with the BenCab Art Foundation managing the facility. [3] [4]
Cabrera intended to establish a private museum to host his personal art collection consisting his own works, Cordilleran indigenous art which he considers as underappreciated, erotica, and works of other artists that appealed to him. [5] [6]
The BenCab Museum is hosted within a four-storey building. [2] Different sections of the museum include: the BenCab Gallery, Cordillera Gallery, Erotica Gallery, Philippine Contemporary Art Gallery, Sepia Gallery, Maestro Gallery, Print Gallery, Patio Salvador, and Larawan Hall. [7]
The museum complex also has the BenCab Farm & Garden, a leisure area featuring the Ecotrail – which showcases Igorot huts which are an example of Ifugao, Kalinga and Bontoc architecture. Its farm is used to cultivate coffee and other crops and the garden has bonsai trees. The area also has a restaurant-cafe known as the Café Sabel. [5] [8] [1]
Morton Wayne Thiebaud was an American painter known for his colorful works depicting commonplace objects—pies, lipsticks, paint cans, ice cream cones, pastries, and hot dogs—as well as for his landscapes and figure paintings. Thiebaud is associated with the pop art movement because of his interest in objects of mass culture, although his early works, executed during the fifties and sixties, slightly predate the works of the classic pop artists. Thiebaud used heavy pigment and exaggerated colors to depict his subjects, and the well-defined shadows characteristic of advertisements were almost always included in his work.

The Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) is an encyclopedic art museum located at Newfields, a 152-acre (62 ha) campus that also houses Lilly House, The Virginia B. Cesar Torrente Legaspi was a Filipino National Artist in painting. He was also an art director prior to going full-time in his visual art practice in the 1960s. His early (1940s–1960s) works, alongside those of peer, Hernando Ocampo are described as depictions of anguish and dehumanization of beggars and laborers in the city. These include Man and Woman and Gadgets. Primarily because of this early period, critics have further cited Legaspi's having "reconstituted" in his paintings "cubism's unfeeling, geometric ordering of figures into a social expressionism rendered by interacting forms filled with rhythmic movement".
