Beneath the Storm is an upcoming American science fiction thriller film written and directed by Tommy Wirkola. It stars Phoebe Dynevor, Whitney Peak, and Djimon Hounsou.
In May 2024, Columbia Pictures was developing a science fiction thriller film titled Beneath the Storm with Tommy Wirkola writing and directing, and Phoebe Dynevor cast in the lead role. [1] In August, principal photography began in Australia, when Whitney Peak and Djimon Hounsou joined the cast. [2]
Beneath the Storm is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 1, 2025. [2]

Djimon Gaston Hounsou is a Beninese actor. He began his career appearing in music videos and made his film debut in Without You I'm Nothing (1990). He then earned widespread recognition for his role as Cinqué in the Steven Spielberg film Amistad (1997), which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. For his performances in In America (2002) and Blood Diamond (2006), Hounsou was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Born and raised in Sydney, she began her career on Australian television and had her breakthrough playing Cleo Sertori in the Network Ten fantasy series H2O: Just Add Water (2006–2010), for which she received acclaim and was nominated for the AACTA Award for Best Actress. Tonkin made her film debut as Fiona Maxwell in Stuart Beattie's apocalyptic war film Tomorrow, When the War Began (2010).
