Bengaluru FC Futsal is an Indian professional futsal club which is part of Bengaluru FC and is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. [1] [2] The club competes in Karnataka Futsal League and Futsal Club Championship, the highest level of futsal club competition in India. [3]

History

In December 2019, the AIFF executive committee had announced that a new futsal club tournament will be held annually and had also invited ISL clubs to participate., [3] but due to COVID pandemic the tournament was postponed and rescheduled for 2021. [4] On 15 October 2021, Bengaluru FC emerged as the only ISL club to have announced participation. [1]

The 2021–22 Futsal Club Championship was the inaugural edition of the Futsal Club Championship, an annual futsal club tournament in India organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), being held in New Delhi. It was initially planned to be organised in July – August 2020. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the championship was held from 5–13 November in K. D. Jadhav Indoor Hall of Indira Gandhi Arena.

The Reliance Foundation Development League is India's first developmental football league organised by the Reliance Foundation in technical support with the All India Football Federation. A total of eight teams participated in the first tournament which was held in Goa from 15 April to 12 May 2022. Youth (academy) teams of the Indian Super League clubs Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, FC Goa, Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC joined Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) for the inaugural edition. The league was founded to offer opportunities to the young players across the country.

The 2022–23 season is Bengaluru FC's tenth season as a club since its establishment in 2013. After spending two seasons in Goa, at a centralised venue due to COVID-19 pandemic, the club will return to Sree Kanteerava Stadium, despite the concerns raised by the athletes. This season also marks as the final season leading to the decennial anniversary of the club on 20 July 2023.
