The University of Nigeria,commonly referred to as UNN,is a federal university located in Nsukka,Enugu State,Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded in 1955 by Nnamdi Azikiwe who was the Governor General of Nigeria between 1960 and 1963,and first President of Nigeria between 1963 and 1966. The University of Nigeria Nsukka was formally opened on 7 October 1960. The University of Nigeria has three campuses in Enugu State–Nsukka,Enugu,and Ituku-Ozalla –and the Aba campus in Abia State.
The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) is a university in Nigeria that was founded as Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH) on 30 July 1980,by the Executive Governor of Anambra State,Chief Dr Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo. The creation of Enugu State out of Anambra State in 1991 by the then Military President General Ibrahim Gbadamasi Babangida,transformed ASUTECH into Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

University of Ilorin (UNILORIN),is a federal government-owned public research university in Ilorin,Kwara State,Nigeria. The university's main campus sits on an expansive area of land,about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin;making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 16 faculties and over 100 academic departments offering 103 programmes. It was established by a decree of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria in August,1975. The University of Ilorin has the highest enrollment of foreign students in Nigeria. The establishment aimed to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan,which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower,which is vital for the rapidly expanding economy. Compared to other higher institutions of learning in the country,the institution has one of the largest land areas,covering approximately 15,000 hectares of land. It is reported by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to be the most sought-after Nigerian university in 2021. And again in 2023,it was announced by the JAMB Head,Professor Ishaq Oloyede to be the sought-after University,for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME),making it for the 10th consecutive year.
Kaduna State University is located in Kaduna,Kaduna State,Nigeria. It was established in 2004. It has sixteen faculties with over 50 departments. The School has two main campuses:Kafanchan and Kaduna.

Frank Nwachukwu Ndili was the 1st Nigerian nuclear physicist and the 7th vice chancellor (president) of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He served as Vice Chancellor (President) of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka from 1980 until he was succeeded by professor Chimere Ikoku in 1985. He left the office after a long and controversial investigation by the panel of inquiry. However,he is believed to have been forthright even where his predecessor Umaru Shehu (1978–1979) threaded carefully. During Professor Ndili's Vice-Chancellorship,effort was undertaken for the first time to rebuild and refurbish the University of Nigeria following its devastation by the Nigerian Civil War. Ndili envisioned that the University would be destined for world-class status and designed a Master Plan to that effect. Today,the grand University entryway,the Nnamdi Azikiwe Library,the School of General Studies,and the Faculty of Arts Complex stand as testimony to his grand vision.
Chinedum Uzoma Nwajiuba is a Nigerian academic and a professor of agricultural economics. He was the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo in Ebonyi,Nigeria.
Charles Arinzechukwu Igwe is a Nigerian professor of soil science and the 15th Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He joined the university in the year 1976 as a soil survey assistant and in 1976 he became an academic staff of the institution. In 2016,Charles was appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) and re-appointed in 2018.
Charles Okechukwu Esimone is a Nigerian professor of biopharmaceutics and pharmaceutical biotechnology who served as the vice-chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka,Nigeria from 2019 to 2024. He is the first professor of pharmaceutical microbiology in South-Eastern Nigeria.
Emmanuel Nnaemeka Enejere (1944–2016) was a Nigerian academic and a political scientist. He was the 14th Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka and a former president of the National Union of Biafran Students in the midst of the Nigerian Civil War.
Emeka Patrick Nwabueze is the first Emeritus Professor of Theatre and Film Studies of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka in Enugu State,southeastern part of Nigeria. He is also a former dean of Faculty of Arts and ex- director of African studies of the institution.

Obasi Igwe is a Nigerian Professor of political science. His book,Politics and Globe Dictionary,which included his theory of Integration,has been cited more than 300 times in articles by other scholars. Obasi Igwe was several times the Head of Department of Political Science of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. A consistent advocate of greater Igbo inclusion in the Nigeria polity,Obasi Igwe was Chairman of the National Organizing Committee of the apex pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization,Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Igbo Day,2023. He is a political activist and human rights crusader.
Peter Achunike Akah is a Nigerian professor of pharmacology,University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He was,several times,the head of Pharmacology Department,University of Nigeria;associate dean,School of Postgraduate Studies and dean,Students Affair of the same university. Akah is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria and a Fellow of Nigerian Academy of Science. Akah is in the editorial board of the Global Journal of Medicinal Plants Research;Tropical Journal of Natural Product Research;and African Journal of Traditional Herbal Medicine Supporters Initiative. He served as chief editor of the Journal of Medicinal Plants Research (JMPR),African Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (AJOPRED) and Continental Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CJPS). He was the vice chancellor of the Imo State University. Akah's publications have been cited 7200 times by other scholars,making him one of the most cited Nigerian scholars.
