The Hiyas ng Maynilad Dance Troupe is the official and premiere cultural dance company of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. The company,consisting of student-performers under the umbrella PLM President's Committee on Arts and Culture,made its debut performance during the University's anniversary celebration in 1982. Since then,it has presented dances in costumes that reflect the traditional culture of the Philippines. Together with the PLM Rondalla,the company has also appeared as the Hiyas ng Maynilad and Cultural Group.
Benito Fernandez Reyes is a well-known Filipino academic and administrator. He was appointed as the first university president of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 1967. When he moved to the United States in the 1970s,Reyes founded the World University at Ojai,California.

Rustica Cruz Carpio was a Filipino actress,scholar,playwright,philanthropist,and public servant. Most notably an actress,she performed on stage,film,and television. She received acclaim for her role as Lola Puring in Grandmother,a film by Filipino director Brillante Mendoza which was selected to compete in various international film festivals,including Venice and Dubai. For her acting work in the said film,she was critically well-received,earning nominations and awards,winning the Gawad Urian for Best Actress,the Crystal Simorgh for Best International Actress at the Fajr International Film Festival in Iran,and the Las Palmas International Film Festival Best Actress award in Spain.
Tranquil Gervacio S. Salvador III is a Filipino lawyer,educator,and civic leader. He has served as spokesperson and member of the defense panel for the impeachment of the then-Chief Justice Renato Corona and handled other notable cases of Filipino personalities and corporations.
