Sims is a ghost town in Morton County, North Dakota, United States. The town was founded in 1883, and Sims Scandinavian Lutheran Church was constructed the following year. Today, the church has been restored and still worships every other Sunday. The church parsonage has also been restored and is home to the Sims Historical Society Museum.
Stanley Evans Borleske was an American football, basketball, and baseball player and coach. He served as the head football coach at North Dakota Agricultural College—now North Dakota State University and at Fresno State Teachers College—now Fresno State University (1929–1932), compiling a career college football record of 36–36–7. Borleske's 1930 Fresno State football squad is one of only three in program history to complete a season undefeated. Borleske coached basketball at North Dakota Agricultural from 1919 to 1922 and at Fresno State from 1934 to 1939, tallying a mark of 75–75. He was also the head baseball coach at the two schools, from 1920 to 1921 and 1923 to 1924 at North Dakota Agricultural and from 1930 to 1941 at Fresno State, amassing a record of 99–58–1.

Paul Parker "Maggie" Magoffin was an American football player. He played left halfback for Fielding H. Yost's University of Michigan Wolverines football teams of 1904, 1905, 1906 and 1907, and was captain of the 1907 team. He later served as a football coach at North Dakota State University and George Washington University.
Howard T. Abbott was an American football player, lawyer and judge. He played college football and was the starting quarterback for both the University of Minnesota in 1886 and the University of Michigan in 1889. He was also the captain of the first Minnesota Golden Gophers football team in 1886. He was a lawyer in Duluth, Minnesota, starting in 1891 and later became a judge.
David Lewis Dunlap was an American football player and coach of football, basketball, and baseball, college athletics administrator, and physician. He played football for the University of Michigan's "Point-a-Minute" teams from 1901 to 1903 and 1905. Dunlap was the head football coach and athletic director at Kenyon College in 1906, at the University of North Dakota from 1907 to 1911, and at Allegheny College in 1912. He also coached basketball and baseball at North Dakota and basketball at Allegheny.

The San Diego Chargers announced their 40th Anniversary Team in 2000 to honor the top players and coaches in the history of the National Football League team. The Chargers began play in 1960 as part of the American Football League. The anniversary team included 31 players and coaches voted on by fans and a media panel. Four of the players were active on the 2000 Chargers squad. The team became the Los Angeles Chargers after relocating in 2017.
