Bergen Aquarium (Norwegian : 'Akvariet i Bergen') is a public aquarium in Bergen, Norway. It is situated on the Nordnes peninsula and is one of Bergen's tourist attractions. [1]
When it opened on 27 August 1960, it was considered to be the largest and most modern aquarium in Northern Europe. [2] The buildings were designed by architects Hans Chr. Gaaserud and Helge Simers in 1952. Architect Ola B. Åsness was attached to the project during the construction phase. Gunnar Rollefsen designed the interior. Construction in 1995 included the addition of a movie theater. [3] [4]
Bergen Aquarium features more than 300 species. The complex houses over 60 tanks of fish, marine invertebrates, as well as three outdoor ponds with seals, penguins and cyprinids and a tropical branch with reptiles and monkeys.

It has more than 150 stores, on 60,000 m2 (650,000 sq ft) of building space. The shopping centre was designed by architect Jan Olav Reither and opened in 1985. Lagunen Storsenter is owned by Nordås Industrier AS. and managed by the Olav Thon Group.

Sandviksfjellet is a mountain in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is one of the traditional seven mountains that surround the city centre of Bergen. The mountain lies on the east side of the city neighborhood of Sandviken, just north of the mountain Fløyen. The European route E39 highway runs through the mountain as part of the Fløyfjell Tunnel.

St. John's Church is a church in Bergen municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Sydnes area of the city of Bergen. The church is one of five churches in Bergen Cathedral parish in the Bergen domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The red, brick cruciform church has 1250 seats, making it the largest church in Bergen. The church was built between 1891 and 1894 in the Gothic Revival style. It was consecrated on 15 March 1894.
Byfjorden is a fjord in Vestland county, Norway. The 15-kilometre (9.3 mi) long fjord separates the island of Askøy from the mainland Bergen Peninsula, passing right north of the city of Bergen on the mainland. The western entrance to Byfjorden is between the village of Drotningsvik in Laksevåg borough, Bergen, and the village of Marikoven on the island of Askøy in Askøy municipality. The northern entrance to the fjord is between the village of Ask on Askøy and Mjølkeråen in the borough of Åsane in Bergen. On the northern end, it connects with the Salhusfjorden and Herdlefjorden. There is one road crossing over the Byfjorden: the Askøy Bridge, which crosses near the western end of the fjord. The name literally means city-fjord, and it is so named because of its importance as a transportation route into and out of the city of Bergen.

Strandgaten is a street in the city centre of Bergen, Norway, west of the bay of Vågen. It starts at Torgallmenningen and follows the eastern shore of the Nordnes peninsula to Tidemands gate, where it becomes Nordnesgaten. The easternmost quarter of Strandgaten is a regular two-way street, while it is an eastbound one-way street between Tollbodallmenningen and Holbergsallmenningen, and between Østre Murallmenningen and Torgallmenningen. Between Holbergsallmenningen and Østre Murallmenningen the street is pedestrianised. In total, Strandgaten is approximately 1.2 km long.
