Berkad Ali Hersi (Somali : Barkada Cali Xirsi) is a town in the Aynabo District, in the Sool region of Somaliland. [1] [2]

Marodi Jeh is an administrative region (gobol) in western Somaliland. It is the most populous region of the country. Marodi Jeh was created by splitting the previously existing region (gobolka) Woqooyi Galbeed in two, the other part being Sahil. In 2007 the region of Woqooyi Galbeed was renamed to Maroodi Jeex. Woqooyi Galbeed was thus much larger than Marodi Jeh.

Nugal, traditionally known as Nugaaleed-Bari or Bari-Nugaal meaning eastern Nugaal, or Nugaal xaggeeda hoose meaning lower Nugaal, is an administrative region (gobol) in northern Somalia.

The Dhulbahante is a Somali clan family, part of the Harti clan which itself belongs to the largest Somali clan-family — the Darod. They are the traditional inhabitants of the physiographic Nugaal in its topographic sense, and its pre-independence administrative sense, which included Doollo. The clan's progenitor is buried at Badweyn.

The Warsangali is a major Somali sub clan, part of the Harti clan which itself belongs to one of the largest Somali clan-families - the Darod. In the Somali language, the name Warsangali means "bringer of good news." The Warsangeli primarily inhabit the Sanaag, Bari, Lower Juba, Gedo, Bay and Bakool regions.

Ali Khalif Galaydh was a Somali politician. He was the Prime Minister of the transitional Somalia administration from 8 October 2000 to 28 October 2001. Galaydh had extensive experience in public policy, diplomacy, public administration, and business. He taught these subjects at public universities in the United States. Additionally, Galaydh was the President of the Khaatumo state. In 2017, he signed an agreement with the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution, this would’ve promoted peace and stability throughout the regions of Sool, sanaag and cayn.

The Reer Nuur also known as Nuur Yoonis, is a noble northern Somali clan, a sub-division of the Makahiil sub-clan of the Gadabursi clan family.

Abdirahman Ahmed Ali Tuur was a Somali politician who served as the first President of Somaliland from 1991 to 1993. Tuur also served as the Chairman of the Somali National Movement from 1990 to 1991.

Hudun District is a historical district in the eastern Sool region of Somaliland. Its capital lies at Hudun. The border between Hudun District and Las Anod District goes through the town of buur anod, also called buur aanood, a town that lies in between the towns of dib shabeel to the north, and daryaha (daryaha) to the south. This was the site of the largest battle between Darawiish and colonial forces in 1904.

Garad Jama Garad Ali (Somali: Garaad Jaamac Garaad Cali, Arabic: (جراد جامع جراد علي is the supreme traditional clan chief of the Dhulbahante. On May 22, 2006 he was crowned in Las Anod in the presences of a large crowd, including high-ranking dignitaries from the Somali Government, Somali Region, Somaliland, and Puntland.

The Somaliland National Party, sometimes referred to as the Waddani National Party and better known by its shortened Somali form Waddani, is a political party in Somaliland. The party was founded by Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro) in 2012, ahead of the second municipal elections later that year. On 16 November 2021 Hersi Ali Haji Hassan was elected as the new chairman of the opposition party.

Baran is a village in the Sool region of Somaliland/Somalia. It is inbetween Las Anod, the regional capital of Sool, and Kalabaydh. The main road that runs from the regional capital to the southeast is named after it. It is primarily inhabited by the Baharsame subclan of the Dhulbahante. In 1906 Baran was made part of the Darwiish grazing ground. It is located a dozen or so kilometers to the west of Weylahed, the second Darwiish capital in 1901.

Hinda Jama Hersi Ganni is a Somali politician currently serving as the Minister of Employment, Social and Family Affairs of Somaliland.

Salaan Mahamud Hirsi, better known as Salaan Carrabey, was a famous poet from the Adan Madoba sub-division of the Habr Je'lo Isaaq clan.

The Farah Garad or the Garad Farah is a Somali clan which is part of the Dhulbahante clan-family, a sub-division of the larger Harti/Darod clan. The Farah Garad are divided into two sub-clans — Yassin Garad and Abdalla Garad. Abdalla has three clan eponyms, Ahmed Garad, Baharsame and Barkad. The large chief caaqil agglomerations including Ararsame, or the Ali Gheri xeer group,. And Yassin Dia Group.
