Besa Mumba (born 9 December 1996) is a Zambian pilot. She is currently the youngest female commercial pilot in Zambia and Africa. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Education

Mumba was born on 9 December 1996 in Lusaka. She started schooling in 1999 at Sunshine Primary School. Before going for flight training in South Africa, she had her high school education at St Mary's. [7] [5]

Career

Mumba trained at the South African Flight Training Academy in Heidelberg where she acquired her Private pilot licence after two years in 2015. After an extra training at SIMU Flight in Pretoria, she obtained her Commercial pilot licence in July 2015. She then joined Proflight Zambia, in 2016, where she currently works as a First Officer. Zambia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its twelfth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1964 Summer Olympics. The delegation consisted of seven competitors; three track and field athletes Gerald Phiri, Prince Mumba and Chauzje Choosha, one each in Boxing and Judo and two swimmers, Zane Jordan and Jade Ashleigh Howard. Phiri, Mumba, Choombe and Munyonga had qualified by meeting the standards in their respective sports, and Choosha, Jordan and Howard qualified by wildcard places. Mumba was the national flag bearer at the opening and closing ceremonies.

Bomb$hell Grenade Zambian singer

Bwalya Sophie Chibesakunda, better known by her stage name Bombshell Grenade which is written as Bomb$hell Grenade or simply Bombshell, is a Zambian rapper, singer, actress and the 2021 AFRIMMA Best Female Rapper in Africa. She first gained public recognition after the release of her single "The Berg" featuring Jay Rox. Grenade subsequently provided guest vocals for the Kaladoshas song "They Don't Know".

Onechi Lwenje is an actor in Zambian cinema. Apart from acting, Onechi is also a prolific author, filmmaker, award-winning producer and director. He is the founder of a media production company called 'Landmark Communications Limited' and founder of a game development company, music publisher and animation studio called 'Courtland Media Lab'.

Suwilanji Theresa Mpondela is a Zambian athlete who specializes in sprinting. Since 2019, She has been serving the Athletes Commission for the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ).
