Beth Wessel-Kroeschell (born 1959) [2] is an American politician who held the District 45 seat in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2005 to 2023. During the 2022 state legislative elections,she was redistricted to District 49. [3]
As of September 2011 [update] ,Wessel-Kroeschell serves on several committees in the Iowa House –the Environmental Protection and Judiciary committees,as well as the Human Resources committee,where she is the ranking member. She is also a member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee and of the Medical Assistance Projections and Assessment Council.
Wessel-Kroeschell was born and raised in Ames,Iowa. Outside of politics,she is the public events coordinator for Reiman Gardens. [4]

Steven Henning "Steve" Warnstadt was the Iowa State Senator from the 1st District. A Democrat,he served in the Iowa Senate from 2003 until 2011. He received his BA from Drake University and his MA from Temple University. She was the first female Speaker in Iowa's history. She received her BSN from the University of Iowa and her MSN from Drake University. On August 19,2015,Upmeyer was elected by the members of the Iowa House of Representatives Republican majority to serve as the Speaker of the House.
