Bettina Heltberg (born September 28, 1942) is a Danish writer and actor.

The daughter of Niels Johannes Heltberg and Grethe Heltberg, she was born in Frederiksberg and grew up there. She attended acting school and later completed a degree in political science from Aarhus University in 1972. Heltberg worked as a secretary for the Danish Ministry of Culture from 1972 to 1974. The Social Democrats, officially Social Democracy, is a social-democratic political party in Denmark. It was the major coalition partner in government from the 2011 parliamentary election, with then-party leader Helle Thorning-Schmidt as Prime Minister. After the 2015 parliamentary election, the party is no longer in government, though it regained the position as the largest party in the Danish parliament, the Folketing, with 47 of 179 seats. Helle Thorning-Schmidt withdrew as party leader on the night of the election as a direct consequence of the loss of government control, and she was succeeded on 28 June 2015 by the former vice leader, Mette Frederiksen.

She married Svend Auken in 1966; the couple had four children. They divorced in 1993. Heltberg's autobiographical book Hvor der handles. Erindringsbilleder , published in 1996, includes a behind the scenes view of the leadership convention where Auken was defeated as party leader by Poul Nyrup Rasmussen. The book was awarded the Weekendavisens litteraturpris  (da ) in 1996. [1] [3]

Danish literature

Danish literature, a subset of Scandinavian literature, stretches back to the Middle Ages. The earliest preserved texts from Denmark are runic inscriptions on memorial stones and other objects, some of which contain short poems in alliterative verse. In the late 12th century Saxo Grammaticus wrote Gesta Danorum. During the 16th century, the Lutheran Reformation came to Denmark. During this era, Christiern Pedersen translated the New Testament into Danish and Thomas Kingo composed hymns. Fine poetry was created in the early 17th century by Anders Arrebo (1587–1637). The challenges faced during Denmark's absolute monarchy in 1660 are chronicled in Jammersminde by Leonora Christina of the Blue Tower. Ludvig Holberg (1684–1754), influenced by the ideas of the Enlightenment and Humanism, is considered the founder of modern Danish and Norwegian literature. Neoclassical poetry, drama, and the essay flourished during the 18th century influenced by French and English trends. German influence is seen in the verse of the leading poets of the late 18th century such as Johannes Ewald and Jens Baggesen. Other 18th century writers include the hymn writer Hans Adolph Brorson and the satirical poet Johan Herman Wessel.

Lilli Helletofte Gyldenkilde was a Danish politician who served as a member of the Folketing and a Member of the European Parliament. Born in Horsens, Gyldenkilde was raised by her grandparents. She attended school in Allégade, but left at 14 to join the workforce. She worked in a radio factory and a television factory, which aggravated a skin condition she had, causing her to leave the workforce at 27 and receive a disability pension. She was married three times – in 1958, 1963, and 1968 – and had three children.
