A critic from The New Indian Express wrote that "After a point, it becomes clear that Bhamakalapam is simply going for cheap thrills, and that logical consistency is not its strong suit, or even a major concern". [5] A critic from The Hindu wrote that "Bhamakalapam 2 shines because it is aware of its limitations. It understands that it is a low-stakes heist drama and within that framework, manages to keep us invested almost till the final segment". [6]
