Bharati Nandi Sarkar is an Awami League politician and a member of the Bangladesh Parliament from a reserved seat. [1]

Career

Sarkar was elected to parliament from a reserved seat as an Awami League candidate in 1996. [2] She served in the standing committee on the Food Ministry. [3]

The Prime Minister is the head of the government. The president who is the head of the state is elected by the National Parliament. The president of Bangladesh is a ceremonial post and does not exercise any control over the running of the state.
