The Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) (CPI (ML)) was an Indian communist party formed by the All India Coordination Committee of Communist Revolutionaries (AICCCR) at a congress in Calcutta in 1969. The foundation of the party was declared by Kanu Sanyal at a mass meeting in Calcutta on 22 April, Vladimir Lenin's birthday. Later the CPI(ML) party splintered into several Naxalite groups.

Narra Raghava Reddy (1924–2015) was a leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), a six time MLA to Andhra Pradesh Assembly who represented Nakrekal constituency of Nalgonda district. He participated in Telangana Rebellion along with Ravi Narayana Reddy, Dharma Bixam and joined the CPI in 1950 and was elected as sarpanch of Shivanenigudem in 1959. After the split in the CPI, he went with the CPM. Raghava Reddy was jailed among the opposition leaders jailed by then Congress government during the emergency. He was elected state committee member of CPM in 1971 at the party meeting held in Warangal. He was elected as MLA of Nakrekal for six terms since 1967 elections. He won the elections as MLA from the constituency in 1972, 1978, 1984, 1989 and 1994. As the floor leader of the party in Assembly, Raghava Reddy raised a range of public issues and fought for the welfare of toddy tappers, gram sevaks and weavers. He died at the age of 92, in private hospital at Narketpally on 9 April 2015.
Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao was an Indian communist leader and politician from the state of Telangana. Between 1957 and 2004 he got elected six times to the State Legislative Assembly.

Gurram Yadagiri Reddy was a freedom fighter of Telangana rebellion and a veteran politician at Communist Party of India. He was elected as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly three times. He represented Ramannapeta constituency from CPI. He was renowned freedom fighter during the Telangana peasants armed struggle at the time of the Nizam regime. Leaders from across the political spectrum remember Reddy as a simple and honest man “one who sent his children to government schools, never bought a car or a house” and a "role-model Communist”. He believed and followed communist ideology and moral philosophy until his last breath.
Devulapalli Venkateswara Rao (1917-1984) was an Indian politician. He was a member of the 2nd Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Nalgonda constituency of Telangana.
Bodepudi Venkateswara Rao, was an Indian political leader. A member of the legislative assembly continuously for three terms serving the “Communist Party of India (Marxist)” [CPI(M)], Venkateswara Rao was previously a social reformer from the state of Telangana. He gained a lot of prominence in the state and the country for his persistent efforts to improve the lives of the downtrodden. He won the hearts of millions of peasants and farmers from Khammam District, Telangana, India.
