Bhupendra Narayan Mandal (1904-1975) was an Indian politician. He was a Member of Parliament,representing Bihar in the Rajya Sabha the upper house of India's Parliament as a member of the Samyukta Socialist Party [1] [2] [3]
B.N. Mandal was born in 1904 into landowning Vaishnavite family of Ranipatti Estate in modern day Madhepura district of Bihar. [4] His father Babu Jainarayan Mandal and mother Dana Devi were traumatized by the death of his two elder brothers. Thus,they were very protective towards him. [5]
Bhupendra Mandal took his last breath on 29 May 1975 at Tengraha in Kumarkhand block of Madhepura. [4]
Ram Vilas Paswan was an Indian politician from Bihar and the Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs,Food and Public Distribution in the first and second Modi ministries. Paswan was also the president of the Lok Janshakti Party,nine-times Lok Sabha member and two-time Rajya Sabha MP. Babu Bindheshwari Prasad Mandal was a scion of the erstwhile Murho Estate and an Indian politician who chaired the Mandal Commission. Mandal came from a rich Yadav landlord family from Madhepura in Northern Bihar. He served as the seventh Chief Minister of Bihar in 1968,but he resigned after 30 days. As a parliamentarian,he served as the chairman of the Second Backward Classes Commission,popularly known as the Mandal Commission. The commission's report mobilized a segment of the Indian population known as "Other Backward Classes" (OBCs) and initiated a fierce debate on policies related to underrepresented and underprivileged groups in Indian politics.
