The Bihar government launched the Bihar Startup Policy 2017 with Rs. 500cr fund with the aim of attracting entrepreneurs and startups. [1] [2]

On 15 January 2018, the Bihar government launched a campaign called "Bano Udyami" to encourage youth to start new businesses. [3]

In May 2019, the "Bihar Entrepreneurs Association" decided to set up the Artificial Intelligence - Centre of Excellence" in Patna; it would be the first of its kind in East India. [4]

In March 2021, Jibesh Kumar stated at 28th Convergence India 2021 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi[ which? ] that over 104 startups have already been incubated under the Bihar Startup Policy, that investments in Bihar's IT sector were expected to grow[ clarification needed ], and that three "IT parks" at Rajgir, Bihta, and Patna were under construction. Nalanda College of Engineering is an government engineering college situated in Chandi near Nalanda, Bihar, India. It was inaugurated on 19 November 2008 by the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar. It is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University. The college is managed by Department of Science and Technology, Bihar.

The 1996 Bathani Tola massacre was an incident of caste-related violence in which an upper-caste militia killed 21 Dalits, including women and children, in the Indian state of Bihar on 11 July 1996. The attacks were allegedly by members of the Ranvir Sena, in response to Dalit labourers' demand for wage increase.

There was a political crisis in Bihar state of India during February 2015 over the post of the Chief Minister of Bihar. Incumbent Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi did not vacate the post for former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who wanted to return, resulting in a split in the political party, JD(U). After days, the Governor asked Manjhi to prove majority in house by trust vote. Manjhi quit the post on day of vote and later Nitish Kumar took oath as chief minister again on 22 February 2015 ending the crisis.

Bihar State Road Transport Corporation or BSRTC is a state-owned road transportation company in Bihar with compared to other Indian states it is facing financial crisis in term of government funding, which degrade its process of expanding basic infrastructural assets both HR and number of buses in BSRTC, as par to 3 tier cities public transportation system. BSRTC was set up in 1959 under the provisions of Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950. It is wholly owned by the Government of Bihar. In year 2020 Chief Minister of Bihar inaugurated Pataliputra Bus Terminal commonly known as ISBT, Patna. It is the first ISBT of Bihar.

2013 Patna bombings

On 27 October 2013, a series of bomb blasts rocked the Indian city of Patna, Bihar at a massive election rally for BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. Of the estimated 300,000 participants at the "Hunkar" rally, six people were killed and 85 others were injured in eight bomb blasts.

Purvanchal Expressway Indian expressway connecting Lucknow and Ghazipur

Purvanchal Expressway is an under-construction 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway will connect Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is being developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). According to UPEIDA, it is expected to be inaugurated in August 2021.

Patna Collectorate Government building in Bihar, India

Patna Collectorate or Patna district Collector is administrative head office of Collector of Patna district in Patna, Bihar, India. It is on the bank of river Ganges, close to Gandhi Maidan. It is in the style of Dutch architecture and British architecture and is over 200-year-old building complex. In 2008, the Collectorate was listed as heritage building by the Government of Bihar.

2017 Patna boat accident Boat capsizing incident in India

On 14 January 2017, a boat carrying more than 40 passengers capsized in the Ganges in the Indian city of Patna, Bihar, killing 25 people. The boat was about to reach the bank when it capsized. Overloading is suspected to be the cause of the accident.

Livspace, is a home interior and renovation company head-quartered in Singapore. It provides interior design and renovation services in Singapore and India. The company was founded in 2014 by Anuj Srivastava and Ramakant Sharma and has raised a funding of $200 million.
