Bill Caul (born September 2,1942) is a United States politician,who was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives from 2004 to 2010,representing the 99th District, [1] as a member of the Republican Party.
Caul,formerly a teacher in the Mount Pleasant Public Schools,ran for the seat formerly occupied by his wife,Sandra Caul,after she was forced out by term limits. In November 2004,Caul defeated Democrat Sharon Tilmann,a former mayor of Mount Pleasant and city commissioner.
Caul was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives State Appropriation Committee. Caul won his final term in 2008,defeating Central Michigan University professor Nancy White,the Democratic nominee,and Libertarian Party nominee Devon Smith. [2] Caul's 54 percent of the vote was the lowest percentage of the vote carried by a Republican candidate in the 99th district since his wife's re-election in 2000.
He was term limited in 2010,and was succeeded by Kevin Cotter. [3]

Thaddeus George McCotter is an American politician,radio host,and a member of the Republican Party. He was the U.S. Representative from Michigan's 11th congressional district from 2003 to 2012. The district at the time consisted of portions of Detroit's northwestern suburbs,such as Livonia,Westland and Novi. He was also a candidate for the Republican nomination for president in the 2012 election.

Primary elections were held on August 7,2012. The filing deadline for candidates to file to run in the primary was May 15. Except for two seats,all the incumbents sought re-election. Kevin M. Cotter is an American politician who represented the 99th District in the Michigan House of Representatives. He is a member of the Michigan Republican Party. He worked as an attorney in Mt. Pleasant before winning election to the state House in 2010. After serving as chair of the House Judiciary Committee and vice chair of the Elections and Ethics Committee,in November 2014 he was selected by the Republican caucus to serve as Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives for the 2015-16 legislative session. On September 8,2016,a federal lawsuit was filed against Representative Cotter by former State Representative Todd Courser.
Kerry Lynn Bentivolio is an American politician and educator who is the former United States Representative for Michigan's 11th congressional district,in office from 2013 to 2015. Bentivolio,a Republican,defeated Democratic nominee Syed Taj,a physician,in the November 6,2012 election. Bentivolio was defeated for the Republican nomination in his bid for a second term by attorney David Trott. He launched a write-in campaign for the November 2014 general election but lost again to Trott. After Trott announced he was not seeking reelection in 2018,Bentivolio again sought election in the eleventh district,but finished last in the primary. In October 2019,Bentivolio announced that he would again run for his former congressional seat against Democrat Haley Stevens in the 2020 election. Bentivolio would finish third in the Republican primary.

Michigan's 99th House of Representatives district is a legislative district within the Michigan House of Representatives located in parts of Bay,Clare,and Gladwin counties,as well as all of the Arenac,Iosco,and Ogemaw counties. The district was created in 1965,when the Michigan House of Representatives district naming scheme changed from a county-based system to a numerical one. The district lines were redrawn to now consist of Iosco,Ogemaw and Arenac counties in their entirety and portions of Bay,Clare and Gladwin counties.
