Bill Lucas nicknamed "Wakka" was an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1910s and 1920s. He played for Annandale, Western Suburbs, Balmain and Glebe in the NSWRL competition.
Lucas made his first grade debut for Annandale in round 9 of the 1917 NSWRFL season against South Sydney at Wentworth Park scoring a try in a 19–11 loss. In 1918, he played 14 games as the club finished with the Wooden Spoon. In 1919, Lucas joined Western Suburbs but only played two games before returning to Annandale. Lucas played in Annandale's final season in 1920 as the club went winless and finished with another wooden spoon. Lucas played in their final game in the competition against Eastern Suburbs which ended in a 15–0 loss. The game was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground No. 2 Oval. In 1921, Lucas joined defending premiers Balmain and stayed with the club for two years. In 1923, Lucas signed on to play with Glebe who had finished as runners up the year before to North Sydney. On the 22 September 1923, Lucas played in Glebe's City Cup loss to Balmain. Lucas retired at the end of the 1925 season. [2] [3]
The Balmain Tigers are a rugby league club based in the inner-western Sydney suburb of Balmain. They were a founding member of the New South Wales Rugby League and one of the most successful in the history of the premiership, with eleven titles. In 1999 they formed a joint venture club with the Western Suburbs Magpies club to form the Wests Tigers for competition in the National Rugby League (NRL). They no longer field any senior teams in the lower divisions. At the time of the joint venture only South Sydney Rabbitohs and the St George Dragons had won more titles than the Tigers.
Cumberland, officially known as Central Cumberland, were a rugby league team in 1908 based in the region of Cumberland Plain in western Sydney. They were one of the nine original teams in the first New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) season, albeit admitted after the first round of matches had already been played. They are the shortest lived team in the history of first-grade rugby league in Australia after disbanding late that year. Annandale were an Australian rugby league football club which played in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership from 1910 to 1920. Based in Annandale, New South Wales and nicknamed "The Dales", the club's colours were red and gold.
The Glebe Dirty Reds are an Australian rugby league foundation club which played in the New South Wales Rugby Football League's Sydney premiership, the major competition for the sport in Sydney, from 1908 until their exit at the end of 1929. They were formed on 9 January 1908, with some sources suggesting that they may have been the first Sydney rugby league club to have been created. They were nicknamed and well known as the "Dirty Reds" due to the maroon colour of their playing jerseys.

Bill Tonkin is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a lock in the 1950s and 1960s. He played for Penrith, Balmain, Western Suburbs and South Sydney. Tonkin was an inaugural player for Penrith and played in the club's first ever game.
