Bill Nations (born June 28,1942) is an American dentist and politician.
Noble graduated from Noble High School in Noble,Oklahoma in 1960. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Oklahoma and obtained a degree in dentistry from Baylor University in 1968. Nations began working as a dentist in 1970. [1] He was a member of the Norman City Council between 1986 and 1992,when he was elected mayor. Nations remained mayor until 1998,when he won his first Oklahoma House of Representatives election. He represented district 44 until 2010. [2] Nations was term-limited,and succeeded in office by Emily Virgin. [3]
Nations' wife Teena died at the age of 69 in August 2012. [4]

In 2011,he was elected by Republican senators to serve as the President pro tempore of the Oklahoma Senate,a position he would hold until retirement in 2016.

She was first elected in 2010 at the age of 24 and represents the 44th district,which includes Norman,Oklahoma. Virgin retired from the Oklahoma House at end of 2022 due to term limits.
Mina Hibdon was the first woman elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives from District 44,as well as the district's first Republican representative. Elected at the age of 47 in a special election in 1973,Hibdon served until 1976. A longtime humanitarian and active community volunteer,Hibdon volunteered for the Salvation Army for many years. Along with her husband James,Mina Hibdon died on May 21,2010,in Norman,Oklahoma.

Mildred June Tompkins Benson,commonly known as June Benson,(1915–1981) was the first woman to serve as mayor in the American State of Oklahoma when elected mayor of Norman in 1957 by city commissioners. Benson was inducted into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame in 1985,thanks also to the significant contributions she made on voting rights and environmental protection.
The 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Oklahoma were held on November 6,2018,to elect the five U.S. representatives from the state of Oklahoma,one from each of the state's five congressional districts. The elections coincided with other elections to the House of Representatives,elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. Primary elections were held on June 26 and runoff elections were held two months later on August 28. The state’s U.S. House delegation Republican majority changed from 5-0 to 4-1. As of 2023 this is the only time since 2010 that Democrats won any house race in Oklahoma.
