Bill Schickel is an Iowa broadcast executive. A former Iowa State Representative,he represented the 13th District for three terms. He was elected to his fourth term as the mayor of Mason City,Iowa on November 7,2017. [1] He is the former the co-chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa. [2] He was chairman of the 2012 Iowa Caucus Review Committee.
During his service in the Iowa House,Schickel served as a member of the Appropriations and Economic Growth committees and as the chair of the Ethics Committee and of the Economic Development Appropriations Committee.
He was a news anchor,producer,assignment editor,reporter and account executive for the CBS television affiliate,KIMT-TV,in Mason City,IA. He worked as an editor and reporter for The Globe-Gazette in Mason City and newspapers in Ohio.
He received his BA from the University of Cincinnati.
His wife,Candi,is a Mason City,IA,attorney. The Schickels have three adult daughters.

Steven Henning "Steve" Warnstadt was the Iowa State Senator from the 1st District. A Democrat,he has served in the Iowa Senate from 2003 until 2011. He received his BA from Drake University and his MA from Temple University,and is serving as an adjunct instructor with Western Iowa Tech Community College and as an intelligence officer with the Iowa Army National Guard.
Dwayne Arlan Alons was an American politician. A Republican,he sat in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1999 to 2014,representing the 5th district until 2003,and the 4th district thereafter. He was a brigadier general in the Iowa Air National Guard and served as chief of staff at its headquarters. Alons died of cancer on November 29,2014. He was succeeded in office by John Kooiker.
Linda L. Upmeyer is an American politician who served in the Iowa House of Representatives from the 54th district from 2003 to 2021 and as the Speaker of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2016 to 2020. She was the first female Speaker in Iowa's history. She received her BSN from the University of Iowa and her MSN from Drake University. On August 19,2015,Upmeyer was elected by the members of the Iowa House of Representatives Republican majority to serve as the Speaker of the House. Upmeyer's father Del Stromer served as Speaker from 1981–82.
