Bilu Rakkhosh: A Demon Within is a Bengali drama film by debutant director Indrasis Acharya, produced by Amit Debnath and Anirban Maity. This film was presented by Tripod Entertainment in association with Aalekh. [1] The story is a journey of a modern IT executive who has an inclination towards music. It’s a story of different psychological situations through a man’s mundane daily life and how he loses his soul. The music is released by Amara Muzik.

Plot

The film delineates the journey of a bright mind which is tormented by contradiction in the scenario of rapid socio technical age. [2] He has a lucrative yet anxiety ridden vocation which does not allow him to nurture his long cherished dream to be a singer. His life is squandered as he is unable to settle equilibrium between family obligation and personal ambition. He is like the desperate sailor whose ship is on the verge of sinking. In his mind he creates a utopia and oscillates between past and present helplessly to capture an ideal locale. The film offers an open ending for the viewers to find out the demon’s lot. [3]

Rakkhosh is a Hindi-language psychological thriller drama film where the camera is the lead character of the film. It is a first-person POV of a schizophrenic person. The film is an adaptation of a Marathi short story titled "Patient 302", by late Shri Narayan Dharap, who is a well-known writer in Marathi Literature in horror genre.

Indrasis Acharya is an Indian film director working in Bengali cinema. He came to the prominence after directing his first feature film, Bilu Rakkhosh which won acclaim in both national and international sphere. Indrasis next worked in Pupa which got rave reviews and won many awards and accolades including All India Critic Choice Award for Best Bengali film of 2018. It was in Hanoi international, Kolkata international film festivals and many more. Pupa won multiple awards and accolades around the globe including, Best Director and Best film awards. His third film was The Parcel for which he won the Best Director award at the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival.

Bibaho Obhijaanlit.'The Adventures of Marriage' is an Indian Bengali-language comedy drama film directed by Birsa Dasgupta and produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni. The film stars Ankush Hazra and Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria in lead roles, and Priyanka Sarkar, Rudranil Ghosh, Anirban Bhattacharya and Sohini Sarkar in a supporting role. This film was released on 21 June 2019 under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The music direction of the movie was made by Jeet Gannguli. A standalone sequel named Abar Bibaho Obhijaan was released on 25 May 2023.

<i>Golondaaj</i> 2021 Indian film

Golondaaj is a 2021 Indian Bengali-language historical sports drama film directed by Dhrubo Banerjee and produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of SVF. The film stars Dev, Alexx O'Nell, Anirban Bhattacharya, Ishaa Saha, Indrasish Roy, John Bhattacharya, Mirchi Agni and Srikanta Acharya. It is based on the life of Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, "Father of Indian football". The film was a blockbuster at box-office. Despite Tonic was a blockbuster at box-office but at the end it's runtime Golondaaj was a clean 'theatrical' blockbuster. At Filmfare Awards Bangla 2021, Dhrubo Banerjee won Best Screenplay award for Golondaaj.

The Parcel is a 2020 Indian Bengali-language mystery cum psychological thriller film directed by Indrasis Acharya, produced by Rituparna Sengupta and Krishna Kyal. The film features Rituparna Sengupta, Saswata Chatterjee, Anindya Chatterjee and Ambarish Bhattacharya in lead roles and Sreela Majumdar and Pradip Mukherjee as supporting characters. The story of the film revolves around a doctor-couple and Nandini, the protagonist, and mysterious parcels.
