Kanchanaa Moitra is an Indian actress of Bengali cinema and television. In 2019 she joined Bharatiya Janata Party along with several Tollywood actors but quit from the party in 2023. [1] [2]
Moitra acted in 2008 Bengali film Sedin Dujone directed by Atanu Bose, but she came into prominence after her 2011 film Bye Bye Bangkok . In 2012 she acted in few more discussed films like Kayekti Meyer Golpo of Subrata Sen, Accident directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. [3]

Rituparno Ghosh was an Indian film director, actor, writer and lyricist. After pursuing a degree in economics, he started his career as a creative artist at an advertising agency. He received recognition for his second feature film Unishe April which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. Having won 19 National Awards, along with his contemporaries Aparna Sen and Goutam Ghose, Rituparno heralded contemporary Bengali cinema to greater heights. Ghosh died on 30 May 2013 in Kolkata after a heart attack. Ghosh was also one of the openly homosexual personalities in Indian cinema.
Rituparna Sengupta is Indian actress and producer who is known for her work in Bengali, Odia and Hindi cinema. One of the most successful actresses of Bengali cinema, she rode the crest of her box office success in the late 1990s. She has won a National Award, two Filmfare Awards, four BFJA Awards and four Anandalok Awards.

Debashree Roy also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. As an actress, she is known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema. She acted in more than a hundred films and won over forty awards, including a National Award, three BFJA Awards, five Kalakar Awards and an Anandalok Award. As a dancer, she is known for her stage adaptations of the various forms of Indian folk dances as well as her innovative dance forms imbued with elements from Indian classical, tribal and folk dance. She runs Natraj dance troupe. She is the founder of Debasree Roy Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works for the cause of stray animals. Roy was a Member of the Legislative Assembly from Raidighi constituency since 2011 till 2021.

Sedin Dujone is a 2008 Bengali film directed by debutant director Atanu Basu and released in 2008 featuring Amitava Bhattacharya and Kasturi. The film is almost directly from Priyadarshan who directed Kyon Ki released in 2005, which was not an original storyline either. It was a variation on the famous Suchitra Sen-film Deep Jele Jai. This was later made into Hindi as Khamoshi, produced by Hemant Kumar and starring Waheeda Rehman. But like most of his peers, Bose does not credit his source.

She completed her training in Bharat Natyam, Kathakali, Manipuri and Creative, but is better known as an actress, in Tollywood. Previously, she was the state president of BJP Mahila Morcha, the women's wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal. Now she is a General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, West Bengal.
Sohini Sengupta is an Indian film and theatre actress. Daughter of actor Rudraprasad Sengupta and Swatilekha Sengupta, who are also active in theatre, Sohini is one of the leading actors of the Bengali theatre group Nandikar. As a member of the group, she has worked with prominent theatre personalities such as Debshankar Halder, Sumanto Gangopadhyay and Parthapratim Deb, and was awarded Sangeet Natak Akademi's 2007 Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for contributions to theatre.
