Anandamela, Anondamela, or Anondomela is a children's periodical in the Bengali language published by the ABP Group from Kolkata, India.
Bhajahari Mukhujjee, commonly known as Tenida or Teni, is a fictional native of Potoldanga in Calcutta, who appears in a number of short stories and larger works of the Bengali author Narayan Gangopadhyay. The leader of a group of four young lads who lived in the neighbourhood of Potoldanga, Tenida was depicted as the local big-mouthed airhead, who, although not blessed with academic capabilities, was admired and respected by the other three for his presence of mind, courage, and honesty as well as his vociferous appetite. Descriptions of Tenida's nose also make frequent appearances in the text, being described as "a large nose resembling Mount Mainak". The narrator of the stories is Pyalaram, who seemed to share his leader's frailty in academic exertions. The other two characters who formed an integral part of the quartet were Habul Sen, who speaks with strong East Bengali accent (Dhakai) and Kyabla, the cleverest among the four.
Hemendra Kumar Roy was an Indian Bengali writer noted for his contribution to the early development of the genre of children's literature in the language. He was a noted contributor to the early development of Bengali detective fiction with his 'Jayanta-Manik' and adventurist 'Bimal-Kumar' stories, dealing with the exploits of Jayanta, his assistant Manik, and police inspector Sunderbabu. Roy also translated the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyám into Bengali. Roy's 'Ajab Deshe Amala' is a well-known translation of Alice in Wonderland.
Nitin Bose was an Indian film director, cinematographer and screenwriter of the nation's film industry. He was born in Calcutta and died in the same city. In the 1930s and early 40s, he worked with New Theatres, who made bilingual movies: in both Bengali and Hindi. Later, he moved to Bombay and directed under the banners of Bombay Talkies and Filmistan.

In Bengal, ghosts are believed to be the unsatisfied spirits of human beings who cannot find peace after death or the souls of people who died in unnatural or abnormal circumstances like murders, suicides or accidents. Non-human animals can also turn into ghosts after their death. But they are often associated with good luck and wealth in Bangladesh.
Arunoday Banerjee, known as "Rahul",, is an Indian Bengali actor. He has worked in films and TV. Banerjee made his stage appearance at the age of three with his father's theater troupe Bijoygarh Atmaprakash play entitled Raj Darshan. Since then, he has acted in almost 450 stage shows, with his father's troupe and with Theatron. He was married to co-actress Priyanka Sarkar. He was catapulted to stardom for his role opposite Priyanka Sarkar in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar, directed by Raj Chakraborty. The film was a massive box-office success. He has subsequently appeared in films including Love Circus, Shono Mon Boli Tomay and Poti Poromesshor. His television debut was in the series Tumi Asbe Bole. He has received a number of awards such as Anandalok Award for the Best Actor for his role in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar.
Gulzar is an Indian Urdu poet, lyricist, author, screenwriter, and film director known for his works in Hindi cinema. He is regarded as one of greatest Urdu poets of this era. He started his career with music director S.D. Burman as a lyricist in the 1963 film Bandini and worked with many music directors including R. D. Burman, Salil Chowdhury, Vishal Bhardwaj and A. R. Rahman. Gulzar also writes poetry, dialogues and scripts. He directed films such as Aandhi and Mausam during the 1970s and the TV series Mirza Ghalib in the 1980s. He also directed Kirdaar in 1993.
Kanchan Mullick is an Indian Bengali film and television actor and politician. In addition to the television show Janata Express, Kanchan has also acted in movies like Mahakaal and Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona. He is also a Bengali theatre artist. He has worked in the theatre group Swapnasandhani. Mullick is an All India Trinamool Congress candidate at Uttarpara constituency in 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, and has won the seat.
Baidurya Rahasya is a Bengali thriller movie directed by Tapan Sinha. This movie was released on 8 May 1985 under the banner of Saraswati Chitram. Storylining and music direction was also done by Tapan Sinha.
Jawker Dhan is a Bengali action adventure film of 2017 directed by Sayantan Ghosal. This movie was based on the adventure story of Bimal-Kumar duos of Hemendra Kumar Roy in the same name. In 1939, another Bengali film Jakher Dhan was made by director Haricharan Bhanja starring Ahindra Choudhury, Chhaya Devi and Jahar Ganguly. A sequel titled Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan was released in 2019. Addatimes streamed this on 15 April 2021 on the OTT platform.
Soukarya Ghosal is an Indian filmmaker, director, screenwriter, illustrator and music composer. He is widely considered for his work in Rainbow Jelly, a food fantasy film for the children in Bengali Cinema. His first feature film was Pendulum, bagged three awards in the 4th Mirchi Music Awards Bangla 2014 by Radio Mirchi.
Jayanta and Manik are the fictional detective characters created by Bengali novelist Hemendra Kumar Roy. Roy wrote a number of stories of Jayanta-Manik which are considered as one of the most popular children's literature in Bengal.
Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan is a 2019 Bengali action adventure film directed by Sayantan Ghosal and written by Sougata Basu with influence of the original story by Hemendra Kumar Roy. The film is based on the adventure story of Bimal-Kumar duo written by Hemendra Kumar Roy. It is the second movie after Jawker Dhan. The film had a theatrical release on 6 December 2019.
Satyanweshi Byomkesh is a 2019 Bengali detective thriller featuring the iconic sleuth Byomkesh, played by Parambrata Chatterjee. The role of Ajit is played by Rudranil Ghosh and Henna Mullick is played by Ayoshi Talukdar. The film is a murder mystery directed by Sayantan Ghosal, produced by Greentouch Entertainment and bankrolled by Shyam Sundar Dey and Tanmoy Banerjee based on the story "Magna Mainak" by Saradindu Bandhopadhyay. The film released on 2 October 2019. A sequel titled Durgo Rahasya is announced.
Sayantan Ghosal is an Indian film director and editor in Bengali cinema. He has directed several movies, including Jawker Dhan, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan, and Satyanweshi Byomkesh. He directed the first three seasons of Byomkesh, for the streaming service Hoichoi, and his police drama web series, Lalbazaar, is currently streaming on ZEE5.
Jakher Dhan is a Bengali adventure thriller film directed by Haricharan Bhanja based on a same name novel of Hemendra Kumar Roy. This is the first film of Bimal-Kumar series, released on 1 April 1939 under the banner of East India Film Company.
Tenida and Co. is a Bengali adventure comedy film directed by Sayantan Ghosal based on the novel Jhau Bungalowr Rahasya by Narayan Gangopadhyay. This is the third film of Tenida series and Kanchan Mullick is playing the role of main protagonist, Tenida.
Rainbow Jelly is a 2018 Bengali language Indian food fantasy film for children, written and directed by Soukarya Ghosal and starring Sreelekha Mitra, Kaushik Sen, Shantilal Mukherjee and introducing Mahabrata Basu and Anumegha Banerjee. The story revolves around a young boy with marginal IQ whose life changes dramatically when he begins to experience the different expressions of food that fill the taste buds and have varied reactions on people who savour them.
