BirdPen is an English alternative electronic rock band formed by Dave Pen (also guitarist and singer in Archive) and Mike Bird.

History

Founded in 2003, [2] BirdPen released several EPs in limited editions between 2005 and 2006. Those EPs were followed by the Breaking Precedent EP' in 2008, and by the On/Off/Safety/Danger LP in 2009, with critics comparing them to Radiohead [2] [3] Following the release of their album, BirdPen served as an opening act of the Archive's Controlling Crowds tour in Europe. [4]

BirdPen came back in 2012 with their second album, named Global Lows. Their third record In The Company of Imaginary Friends was released in 2015 on J.A.R Records / Fintage Music. The band's fourth album, O' Mighty Vision, was released on 26 August 2016.

The 2012 album Global Lows was nominated for 'Best European Independent Album' at the IMPALA awards.

The fifth BirdPen album, There's Something Wrong With Everything, was released in 2018. [1]

Tones on Tail was a British post-punk band formed in 1982, originally as a musical side project of Daniel Ash of the gothic rock group Bauhaus. Their music was described by one critic as "doom-and-dance-pop."

Rudimentary Peni are a British anarcho-punk band formed in 1980, emerging from the London anarcho-punk scene. Lead singer/guitarist Nick Blinko is notorious for his witty, macabre lyrics and dark pen-and-ink artwork, prominently featured on all of Rudimentary Peni's albums. Bassist Grant Matthews has also written several songs for the band, though his lyrics primarily focus on sociopolitical themes. Save Ferris American ska punk band

Save Ferris is an American ska punk band formed circa 1995 in Orange County, California, United States. Their name is a reference to the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. In 1995, the band began to perform underground venues in Southern California. In 1996, the band won a Grammy showcase award for best unsigned band and a contract with Epic Records. Their album It Means Everything from 1997 was their first full-length album. By 1999, the band moved from ska-pop into pop-punk. After a hiatus, in 2017, Save Ferris released the Checkered Past EP.

The Wolfgang Press was an English post-punk band, active from 1983 to 1995, recording for the 4AD label. The core of the band was Michael Allen, Mark Cox (keyboards), and Andrew Gray (guitar).

Tsar (band)

Tsar is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, United States, with Jeff Whalen on lead vocals and guitar, Daniel Kern on vocals and guitar, Jeff Solomon on bass, and Steve Coulter on drums. They have released two major-label studio albums, two EPs, and a self-released demos collection. Citing their primary influences as Guns N' Roses and the Monkees, Tsar's music is a hybrid of glam rock, power pop, garage rock, punk rock, arena rock, and bubblegum music.

Exotic Birds American synthpop music group

The Exotic Birds was an American Synthpop music group formed in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, in 1982 by three Cleveland Institute of Music students who played Percussion, Andy Kubiszewski, Tom Freer and Timothy Adams Jr. They wrote their own music, and were described as Synthpop and Dance. They achieved mainly local success, but appeared as an opening band for Culture Club, Eurythmics, and Information Society.

Plexi was an American gothic noise rock band consisting of Michael Angelos, Michael Barragan and Norm Block. Formed in 1993, their original name was Godseed. Their sound has been compared to bands such as Bauhaus, Sonic Youth, The Cure, Bailter Space, Swervedriver, The Psychedelic Furs, My Bloody Valentine and Psi Com. Plexi's material combined a mix of detached, wry, existential, and romantic lyrics with a flamboyant blend of glam rock and artsy avant-garde textures and noise. Guitarist Michael Barragan was known for regular use of an Echoplex unit to create chaotic walls of sound.

The Contrast (band)

The Contrast are a guitar power pop band based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in the United Kingdom. They were formed in 1999 by David Reid and have since released five albums on the New York-based label Rainbow Quartz and two for Wicked Cool Records. Since the release of their second album Wireless Days, their music has been regularly played by Little Steven on his Underground Garage radio show. Little Steven once described them on air as "One of the best bands on the planet – and England too" and consequently invited them to play the Underground Garage Festival on Randall's Island in 2004. In May 2007, they released a new album called Underground Ghosts that has since been regularly featured on Little Steven's Underground Garage show. A compilation of tracks from all of the Rainbow Quartz albums was released in 2007. This contains new and unreleased tracks and is the band's first release on Little Steven's "Wicked Cool" label. The band's song "Mystery #1" was featured on a Wicked Cool compilation album, The Coolest Songs In The World- Vol 2.

The Wonder Years is an American pop punk band from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, that formed in July 2005. The band currently consists of Dan "Soupy" Campbell, Casey Cavaliere, Matt Brasch, Josh Martin, Nick Steinborn and Mike Kennedy. They have released six full-length albums, two EPs, and several splits/compilations. The group is currently signed to Hopeless Records. Their name originates from a paper that lead vocalist Dan 'Soupy' Campbell read that was written by one of his after-school educators titled "The Wonder Years."

I the Mighty American rock band

I the Mighty is an American rock band based out of San Francisco, California, formed in 2007. As of 2019, the band has released two singles, four EPs, and four studio albums. Their debut wide-release album, Satori, peaked at #10 on the Billboard Heatseekers Charts. As of July 2020, the band is taking an indefinite hiatus following sexual assault allegations against vocalist Brent Walsh.

Released on February 24, 2017 by Columbia and Sony Music, the EP contains four tracks from Mayer's seventh studio album, The Search for Everything, and is a follow-up to its predecessor EP, The Search for Everything: Wave One.
