Birte Steven (born 11 October 1980) is a German former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. [1] She is a ten-time All-Pacific honoree, and also a sixth-place finalist in the 200 m breaststroke at the 2007 FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia. [2] Since 2007, Steven currently holds a long-course German record of 2:25.33 from the national championships. [3]

Steven qualified for the women's 200 m breaststroke at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by attaining an A-standard entry time of 2:25.95 from the German Olympic trials. [4] [5] In the morning's preliminary heats, Steven recorded the seventh fastest time of 2:27.42 to secure her spot in the semifinal run. On the evening session, Steven failed to qualify for the final, as she placed eleventh overall in the semifinals, with a time of 2:29.22. [6]

Steven is also a member of the swimming team for the Oregon State Beavers, and a former student major in psychology at the Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

He is a 15-time long-course Estonian swimming champion in the breaststroke, and a member of SK Garant in Tallinn, under the tutelage of his personal coach Dmitri Kapelin. Baldin also represented his nation Estonia in a breaststroke double at the 2004 Summer Olympics.

Michael Williamson is an Irish former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He won a bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the 2003 Summer Universiade in Daegu, South Korea with a time of 2:15.52.

Diána Reményi is a Hungarian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. She is a two-time junior European champion, and a finalist at the European Short Course Swimming Championships. She is also a member of Budapesti Spartacus SC, and is coached and trained by György Turi.

Iryna Maystruk is a Ukrainian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Maystruk qualified for the women's 200 m breaststroke at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by eclipsing a FINA B-cut of 2:32.85 from the European Junior Championships in Lisbon, Portugal. She challenged seven other swimmers in heat three, including top medal favorite Anne Poleska of Germany. She raced to sixth place by nearly 11 seconds behind winner Poleska in 2:37.42. Maystruk failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed twenty-ninth overall in the preliminaries.

Imaday Núñez González is a Cuban former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She won a total of three medals in the breaststroke and medley relay at the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games in Maracaibo, Venezuela.

Ben-Rachmiel Labowitch is a New Zealand former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Since his mother is a New Zealand citizen, Labowitch claims a dual citizenship which allowed him to try out and make the New Zealand Olympic team. Labowitch is also a former member of North Shore Swim Club under his coach Thomas Ensorg, and a graduate of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where he played for the Drury Panthers.

Daniel Tam Chi-kin is a Hong Kong former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. He is a two-time Olympian, and a double finalist in the 100 and 200 m breaststroke at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. Tam is a member of the swimming team for SLA Sports Club, and is trained by an Australian-born coach Anthony Giorgi.

Aikaterini "Katia" Sarakatsani is a Greek swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. She is a three-time Olympian, a former Greek record holder in the breaststroke, and a member of the swimming team for Hawaiʻi Rainbow Wahine at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, under head coach Vojko Race.
