Black Bomb A is a French old school hardcore/crossover band founded in 1995.
In 2003, the band consisted of two singers, Arno and Poun, guitarists Scalp and Snake, bassist Mario, and drummer Hervé.
In 2001, they entered the spotlight for the first time with the self-released EP Straight in the Vein. Within two years, Blackbomb A developed into a well-known underground band, with about 300 appearances in France.[ citation needed ]
Their third album Speech of Freedom held a spot on the French Billboard charts for seven weeks, and was noted for its "angry experimentation-joy", unique in metalcore.[ citation needed ]
The live album Illicite Stuff Live from 2005 contains recordings from concerts in Saint Nazaire. [1] The album was released in September 2005 amidst the planning of a live tour. After a motorcycle accident involving the bassist Étienne, the band had to cancel the tour. At the beginning of 2006 they began recording a studio album but production was eventually placed on hold, as collaboration with the producer proved difficult. As a result, Black Bomb A separated from their label.
Through collaboration with Sphere they acquired new management at the Warner-Music offshoot Mon Slip. In March 2007, Blackbomb A released their album One Sound Bite to React. The band had evolved both vocally and musically. The album includes a cover version "Beds are Burning" by Midnight Oil, but they remained true to their metalcore roots.
In 2016, they released the live album 21 Years of Pure Madness / Live Act and played at Edinburgh Metal Party 2016. [2]
Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. The band released six full-length albums released by Metal Blade Records to date and a variety of mini-albums, EPs and special releases. Ancient used to have the classic raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with The Cainian Chronicle, they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor and a cleaner production. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic-style instruments such as violins, a female vocalist, and synthesizers to their music.
RatDog is an American rock band. The group began in 1995 as a side project for Grateful Dead guitarist and singer Bob Weir. After the Dead disbanded later that year, RatDog became Weir's primary band. They performed some Grateful Dead songs, a mixture of covers, and some originals. RatDog's repertoire consists of more than 150 songs. They released two albums – Evening Moods (2000) and Live at Roseland (2001). RatDog has not toured since July 2014.
The Queers are an American punk rock band, formed in 1981 by Portsmouth, New Hampshire native Joseph “Joe” P. King along with Scott Gildersleeve, and John “Jack” Hayes. With the addition of Keith Hages joining on bass in 1983 the band started playing their first public performances. The revised line-up played a total of six live shows between 1983 and 1984. This earliest era of The Queers formation initially broke up in late 1984; however, Joe Queer re-formed the band with an all-new line-up in 1986. In 1990, after several more band line-up changes the band signed with Shakin' Street Records to release their debut album, Grow Up. The album earned the band notability within New England, but with the release of their next album, 1993's Love Songs for the Retarded, on Lookout! Records, their following grew.
