Yvonne Catterfeld is a German singer, actress, and television personality. Born and raised in Erfurt, Thuringia, she later moved to Leipzig to pursue her career in music. In 2000, she participated in the debut season of the singing competition series Stimme 2000, where she came in second place. Catterfeld subsequently signed a recording deal with Hansa Records, which released her debut single "Bum" in 2001. The same year, she was propelled to stardom when she was cast in a main role in the German soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. In 2003, Catterfeld made her musical breakthrough when her fifth single, "Für dich", became an international number-one hit and produced the equally successful album Meine Welt.

German singer Yvonne Catterfeld has released seven studio albums, two compilation albums, two video albums and seventeen singles. After finishing second in the inaugural season of the television competition Stimme 2000, she was signed to a recording deal with Hansa Records. In 2001, she released her first single, "Bum", under her stage name Catterfeld; the song failed to chart in any music market. Her first album, Meine Welt (2003), was preceded by four further singles, including "Niemand sonst" and "Gefühle", both of which reached the top forty of the German Albums Chart, and "Für dich" which reached number one in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and marked her commercial breakthrough. The Voice Senior was a German reality talent show created by John de Mol, based on the concept The Voice of Germany. However, participation is only open for candidates of more than 60 years old. It began airing on December 23, 2018 on Sat.1, but after the second season the producers and the tv channel cancelled the show, due to low ratings.

The tenth season, also known as the anniversary season of the talent show The Voice of Germany premiered on October 8, 2020 on ProSieben and on October 11, 2020 on Sat.1. Mark Forster returned as coach for his fourth season and Rea Garvey returned for his sixth season, but this time paired up as a duo with Samu Haber, who returned for his fifth season; Haber last coached in the seventh season. Yvonne Catterfeld and Stefanie Kloss, who last coached in the eighth season and in the fifth season, respectively, returned as coaches and as a duo. In the last season Nico Santos was featured as an off-screen fifth coach for Comeback Stage contestants; this season he returned as a main coach in the red chair. The role of fifth coach belonged to Michael Schulte, who selected contestants to participate in The Voice: Comeback Stage by SEAT. Thore Schölermann returned for his ninth season as host. Lena Gercke also returned for her sixth season as host, but she was only in the live shows phase, due of her pregnancy. Annemarie Carpendale replaced Gercke in the others stages of the show.
