The San Juan Islands is an archipelago in the Pacific Northwest of the United States between the U.S. state of Washington and Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The San Juan Islands are part of Washington state, and form the core of San Juan County.
Freeland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. At the time of the 2020 census the population was 2,252. The town received its name based on its origins as a socialist commune in the early 1900s: in the eyes of its founders, the land of the town was literally to be free for all people. Some of the first settlers were veterans of a prior experiment in socialism, the nearby Equality Colony.
Keystone is a small unincorporated community on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, in the northwestern United States. It is near the Keystone ferry landing, a dock at Keystone Harbor for the Washington State Ferries' Coupeville to Port Townsend route. The route provides a maritime link for State Route 20 across Admiralty Inlet to the Olympic Peninsula. Since its establishment in the 1930s, the ferry route to Port Townsend was known as the Keystone-Port Townsend Ferry; the name was changed in 2010 at the suggestion of the Central Whidbey Chamber of Commerce in order to avoid confusion from tourists and visitors to Whidbey Island.
Bayview is an unincorporated community centered at the intersection of State Route 525 and Bayview Road on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States.
Raft Island is a private island and CDP located near the Pierce County community of Rosedale, Washington, United States. Gig Harbor, Washington is the nearest incorporated town, although unincorporated Artondale is much closer. The island features approximately 200 homes on 160 acres. All of these homes are served through the Gig Harbor post office.

Padilla Bay is a bay located in the U.S. state of Washington, between the San Juan Islands and the mainland. Fidalgo Island and Guemes Island lie to the west of Padilla Bay. Guemes Channel, between the islands, connects Padilla Bay to Rosario Strait. Samish Island lies to the north of Padilla Bay, beyond which is Samish Bay and Bellingham Bay.

The island has a land area of 1.2179 km2 and a population of 162 persons as of the 2010 census. On the island's north side, it has buoys for overnight mooring, and Stretch Point State Park, a small state park only accessible by boat.
Skull Island is the name of two small islands in the San Juan Archipelago in the U.S. state of Washington. The northernmost Skull Island is located off the coast of Orcas Island in Massacre Bay, the most northern extension of the island's West Sound. It is identified as 3.2-acre (1.3 ha) Skull Island State Park Property by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. It was named for holding skulls and bones of a band of Lummi who were killed by raiding Haida in 1858. Since 2013, it has been part of the San Juan Islands National Monument.

The Raccoon Strait is a waterway of the San Francisco Bay between Angel Island and the Tiburon Peninsula, mainland Marin County, California, United States. During the ice ages, when sea levels were considerably lower and San Francisco Bay was a grassy valley, the combined Sacramento-San Joaquin river flowed through what is now Raccoon Strait before flowing through the canyon at the Golden Gate.
Snee Oosh is a populated place on Fidalgo Island in the U.S. state of Washington, on the Swinomish Indian Reservation. The population was reported as 302 in 1999.
Kiket Island is a small tied island in Washington, co-managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission and the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. Located at Snee Oosh, less than four miles (6.4 km) northwest of the town of La Conner in Skagit County, Washington, Kiket is connected to Fidalgo Island by a tombolo called sdᶻalgʷiɬ, over which runs an access road. The name "Kiket" is derived from the Lushootseed-language name of the island, kʷuʔkʷuʔtali. The name means "place of cattail mat." The small spit connecting the two is called sdᶻalgʷiɬ, 'changing canoes'.
Griffin Bay State Park in San Juan County, Washington was a marine park with two campsites in the Washington State Parks. It consisted of 15 acres (6.1 ha) with 340 feet (100 m) of saltwater shoreline. It was part of the Cascadia Marine Trail and campsites were restricted to visitors arriving by human- and wind-powered watercraft. Though the state parks department still owned the land as of August, 2014, the park is no longer listed on the state parks website.
Upright Channel Park is a former unit of the Washington State Park System consisting of 20 acres (8.1 ha) of island, beach, and tidelands on Upright Channel in the northwest corner of Lopez Island. The park was not listed as a Washington State Parks property as of March 2014. San Juan County assumed management of the property per a memorandum of understanding in May 2014.
Bowman Bay is a bay in the state of Washington, United States. It was formerly called Reservation Bay, having been part of a military reservation. In 1977 it was given its current name in honor of Amos Bowman, an American settler of nearby Fidalgo Island. The name of Anacortes on Fidalgo Island is derived from the name of Bowman's wife, Anna Curtis.
The Nisqually Reach is a portion of Puget Sound south of the Tacoma Narrows, near the Nisqually River delta. It is classified as a bay by the United States government. It was originally defined as "the portion of the Sound lying between Anderson Island and the mainland".
