Fin.K.L debuted under DSP Media with the release of their studio album Blue Rain on May 20, 1998. Three singles were spawned from the album, including the title track "Blue Rain", "To My Boyfriend", and "Ruby". According to MIAK, Blue Rain was the 10th best-selling album from March to September 1998, selling over 231,000 copies. [1] It has since sold over 291,000 copies in total.
Fin.K.L won the rookie of the year award at the Golden Disc Awards [2] and Main Prize (Bonsang) at the Seoul Music Awards with Blue Rain.

Fin.K.L is a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media in 1998 consisting of members Lee Hyori, Ock Joo-hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yu-ri. Fin.K.L was one of the most popular K-pop groups of the late 1990s and early 2000s, alongside rival girl group S.E.S. The group cemented their popularity in South Korea with the release the songs "To My Boyfriend" in 1998, "Eternal Love" in 1999, and "Now" in 2000.
Shinhwa (Korean: 신화) is a South Korean six-member boy band based in Seoul, composed of Eric Mun, Lee Min-woo, Kim Dong-wan, Shin Hye-sung, Jun Jin, and Andy Lee. Launched by SM Entertainment on March 24, 1998, the group signed with Good Entertainment in 2004 before creating their Shinhwa Company to manage their career as a band. The band struggled initially with their first album before finding commercial success with their sophomore album T.O.P.. When their contract with SM Entertainment expired in July 2003, all six members signed with Good Entertainment and assumed creative control with the release of Brand New. That same year, members began to pursue individual careers.
Lee Hyo-ri is a South Korean singer, record producer, activist, actress and television presenter. She debuted as a member of group Fin.K.L in 1998, which became one of the most popular girl groups in South Korea during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
