It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county's largest city is North Branch. Within Chisago County is the Chisago Lakes area,which includes the combined areas of Shafer,Chisago City,Lindström,and Center City. Center City is the county seat. The county has a diverse economy,including manufacturing,agriculture,and tourism.

Franken took his oath of office on July 7,2009,more than half a year after the end of Coleman's term on January 3,2009. This election,alongside the concurrent Senate election in New Jersey,was the last U.S. Senate election in which both major party candidates were Jewish.
Robert P. "Bob" Dettmer is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota,he represented District 39A,located in the northeastern part of the Twin Cities metro area,which includes Chisago and Washington counties.
Nathan C. D. Taylor was a politician from Minnesota Territory and a former member of the Minnesota Territory House of Representatives,representing Taylors Falls,Minnesota. He was born in Belknap County,New Hampshire and also lived in Alton,Illinois for a time. He settled near St. Croix Falls,Wisconsin in 1848 and was also involved in the development of Taylors Falls,Minnesota. He ran a mercantile business in Taylors Falls and was also engaged in the lumber industry. He was twice elected to the Minnesota Territory House of Representatives:first in 1854 and again in 1856. He later served as the treasurer for Chisago County,Minnesota from 1866 to 1876. He died in Taylors Falls in 1887.

Liz Harris is an American politician from Arizona and the Arizona RNC National Committeewoman. A Republican,she was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from January 2023 to April 2023. Harris was elected in November 2022 from the 13th legislative district,which includes much of Chandler,Arizona.
