Robert A. Kierlin (born June 1, 1939) is an American businessman and former politician.
Born in Winona, Minnesota, Kierlin graduated from Cotter High School in Winona. He received his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and master's in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. In 1967, Kierlin helped found Fastenal in Winona, Minnesota. He served in the Minnesota Senate from 1999 to 2007 as a Republican. [1] [2]

He served as U.S. Representative from 1859 to 1869, and as U.S. Senator from 1870 to January 1871, from March 1871 to March 1881, and from November 1881 to 1883. He also served two non-consecutive times as Secretary of the Treasury from March to November 1881, and from 1889 to 1891, under three Presidents. He was a Republican. He was the great-grandfather of actor William Windom, who was named for him.

Cotter Schools is located in Winona, Minnesota, and is the sole Roman Catholic school in the city. Educational opportunities begin in preschool for children 16 months or older and continue through Grade 12. Boarding is available for students in grades 7–12. The school opened its doors on September 5, 1911, as the "Cotter School for Boys" with 11 students. Cotter, named for the diocese’s first bishop, Bishop Joseph Bernard Cotter, was a boys school directed by the Christian Brothers of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. In 1952, the Brothers turned the operation of the school over to the diocese and Cotter became co-educational with the combining of the Cathedral Girls High School. In 1953 a new Cotter building was erected and in 1962 an addition was added. In 1992, with help from an endowment from the Hiawatha Education Foundation, the school moved to its current location on the campus of the former College of Saint Teresa, allowing it to add a boarding school component.
Charles Henry Berry, widely known as C. H. Berry, was an American politician and jurist who served as the first Minnesota Attorney General after statehood and as one of the last justices of the Idaho Territorial Supreme Court.
Chester Noyes Bulger was an American football player and coach. He played professionally as a tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Cardinals. Bulger was born in Rumford, Maine, and after graduating from Stephen's High School, he attended Auburn University on a track and field scholarship, where he then walked onto the football team. Bulger played for the Chicago Cardinals from 1942 to 1949, where he was part of the line that helped lead the Cardinals to the NFL Championship in 1947. After retiring from football in 1951, Bulger remained in Chicago and became a teacher, coach, and eventual athletic director at De La Salle Institute. He remained there until 1982 and was subsequently an integral member of the school's development office into the early 1990s. In 2007, De La Salle honored Bulger's contributions to the school by renaming the main athletic field in his honor.

The Winona and St. Peter Engine House is a former engine house in Winona, Minnesota, United States. It was built around 1890 by the Winona and St. Peter Railroad, a subsidiary of the Chicago and North Western Transportation Company. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 for having local significance in the theme of transportation. It was nominated for being the sole surviving structure of a railroad shop complex that was a major local employer and a component of the rail network that fueled Winona's economy.
