Bobby D. Crim (born December 10,1931) is a former Democratic politician from Michigan who served in the Michigan House of Representatives,and who served as Speaker of the House from 1973 through 1982.
Crim is the founder of the Crim Festival of Races,an annual road race event in his hometown of Flint,Michigan. He is also a co-founder of a lobbying firm,Governmental Consultant Services,Inc.,along with former Senate Majority Leader Robert VanderLaan. [2] Crim is also a trustee emeritus of Michigan State University,having served on the board in 1983 and 1984. [3] [4]
In 1968,Bobby Crim served as a presidential elector. [4]
Crim,then speaker of the state house,started the Crim in Flint as a 10-mile race in 1977. [5]
In 2007,Crim appeared on Michigan Public Television's "Off the Record" program and expressed his opposition to term-limit provisions in Michigan's Constitution. [6]
On August 21,2014,a bronze statue of Crim was dedicated in downtown Flint near the starting line of the Crim Festival of Races. [7]

The University of Michigan–Flint (UM-Flint) is a public university in Flint,Michigan,United States. Founded in 1956 as the Flint Senior College,it was initially established as a remote branch of the University of Michigan,offering upper-division undergraduate courses. The institution developed into a fully-fledged university and received accreditation in 1970. Subsequently,the name was changed to the University of Michigan–Flint. Atwood Stadium is an 11,000-seat stadium owned by Kettering University. It is located in the historic Carriage Town district area of downtown Flint,Michigan. In 2019 it became the home field for the Flint City Bucks,a soccer club that competes in USL League Two,as well as Powers Catholic High School. The annual Vehicle City Gridiron Classic also opens the high school football season at Atwood Stadium,with six to eight teams competing each season. The Flint Institute of Music hosts an annual Independence Day concert in the stadium,which is coordinated with Flint's fireworks display,which is launched from the Chevy Commons park,located to the south immediately across the Flint River from the stadium.
WCMZ-TV was a PBS member television station in Flint,Michigan,United States. It operated as a satellite station of Mount Pleasant–licensed WCMU-TV which is owned by Central Michigan University (CMU). WCMZ-TV's transmitter was located off Kipp Road near M-15,just south east of the village of Goodrich in southeastern Genesee County,which was then used and remains in use today by former sister radio station WFUM.

The Crim Festival of Races is an annual road running event with several races and walking events. The original distance was 10 miles and is the marque race as "The Crim" with its infamous Bradley Hills and blue line to keep runners on course. The Crim has been held in August in Flint,Michigan since 1977. It draws runners from around the world from countries such as Kenya,Russia,and Ukraine. The race attracts approximately 50,000 people each year. The festival is one of the Flint Parade of Festivals.
Dayne Walling is an American politician who was the mayor of Flint,Michigan from 2009 to 2015. Although the Flint mayor's office is a nonpartisan position,Walling is a member of the Democratic Party.

The 2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Michigan was held on Tuesday,November 6,2012,to elect the 14 U.S. representatives from the state of Michigan,a decrease of one following the 2010 United States census. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices,including a quadrennial presidential election and an election to the U.S. Senate. Primary elections were held on August 7,2012. The filing deadline for candidates to file to run in the primary was May 15. Except for two seats,all the incumbents sought re-election. The open seats were the 5th and 11th congressional districts. Due to the loss of one seat from the 2010 census,two congressmen ran against each other.
Daniel Timothy Kildee is an American politician serving as a U.S. representative from Michigan since 2013,representing the state's 8th congressional district since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party,he previously served as the Genesee County Treasurer from 1996 to 2013,before succeeding his uncle,Dale Kildee,in Congress. From 1977 to 2009,Kildee was a municipal elected official. On November 16,2023,he announced he would not seek re-election in 2024.
