Bobby D. Crim (born December 10,1931) is a former Democratic politician from Michigan who served in the Michigan House of Representatives,and who served as Speaker of the House from 1973 through 1982.
Crim is the founder of the Crim Festival of Races,an annual road race event in his hometown of Flint,Michigan. He is also a co-founder of a lobbying firm,Governmental Consultant Services,Inc.,along with former Senate Majority Leader Robert VanderLaan. [2] Crim is also a trustee emeritus of Michigan State University,having served on the board in 1983 and 1984. [3] [4]
In 1968,Bobby Crim served as a presidential elector. [4]
Crim,then speaker of the state house,started the Crim in Flint as a 10-mile race in 1977. [5]
In 2007,Crim appeared on Michigan Public Television's "Off the Record" program and expressed his opposition to term-limit provisions in Michigan's Constitution. [6]
On August 21,2014,a bronze statue of Crim was dedicated in downtown Flint near the starting line of the Crim Festival of Races. [7]

The annual Vehicle City Gridiron Classic also opens the high school football season at Atwood Stadium,with six to eight teams competing each season. The Flint Institute of Music hosts an annual Independence Day concert in the stadium,which is coordinated with Flint's fireworks display,which is launched from the Chevy Commons park,located to the south immediately across the Flint River from the stadium.
WCMZ-TV,virtual and UHF digital channel 28,was a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member television station licensed to Flint,Michigan,United States. It was a satellite station of Mount Pleasant-licensed WCMU-TV which is owned by Central Michigan University (CMU). WCMZ-TV's transmitter was located off Kipp Road near M-15,just south east of the village of Goodrich in southeastern Genesee County,which is now used by former sister radio station WFUM.

The Crim Festival of Races is an annual road running event with several races and walking events. The original distance was 10 miles and is the marque race as "The Crim" with its infamous Bradley Hills and blue line to keep runners on course. The Crim has been held in August in Flint,Michigan since 1977. It draws runners from around the world from countries such as Kenya,Russia,and Ukraine. The race attracts approximately 50,000 people each year. The festival is one of the Flint Parade of Festivals.
Dayne Walling is an American politician who was the mayor of Flint,Michigan from 2009 to 2015. Although the Flint mayor's office is a nonpartisan position,Walling is a member of the Democratic Party.

The 2012 United States House of Representatives elections in Michigan was held on Tuesday,November 6,2012,to elect the 14 U.S. representatives from the state of Michigan,a decrease of one following the 2010 United States census. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices,including a quadrennial presidential election and an election to the U.S. Senate. Primary elections were held on August 7,2012. The filing deadline for candidates to file to run in the primary was May 15. Except for two seats,all the incumbents sought re-election. The open seats were the 5th and 11th congressional districts. Due to the loss of one seat from the 2010 census,two congressmen ran against each other.
