History

On Tuesday April 17, a day after the Virginia Tech Massacre a Bogalusa man passed a note to a Bogalusa student making threatening remarks about a mass killing similar to the incident at Virginia Tech. [3]

Bogalusa High School, alongside other schools in the district, are on a 4 day school week, implemented in 2023. [4]

Bogalusa High school is also home to the JROTC "Lumberjack Battalion." [5]

Javorius Tykies Scott, known professionally as JayDaYoungan, was an American rapper and singer. He was best known for his 2019 single "23 Island", which received double platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). After signing with Atlantic Records, the song was included on both his debut commercial mixtape Misunderstood (2019) and debut studio album, Baby23 (2020)—both of which entered the top 50 of the Billboard 200.
