Bois d'Arc Lake

Bois d'Arc Lake is a fresh water impoundment (reservoir) located to the north of Lannius near Bonham, Texas in Fannin County. [1] [2]

The reservoir began being filled in April 2021, making it the most recent reservoir in Texas in thirty years. [3] [4] [5]

A new bridge is under construction on FM 897, passing over the lake and connecting US 82 to FM 1396. [6]

It is a 17,873-acre (7,233 ha) protected area that was purchased in the 1930s. The goal of the park when purchased was to restore the eroded soil. Two developed recreation areas are around Lake Davy Crockett, which is 388 acres (157 ha) in size. The grassland is divided into two units: Bois d'Arc Creek and Ladonia.

The Tidal Basin is a man-made reservoir located between the Potomac River and the Washington Channel in Washington, D.C. It is part of West Potomac Park, is near the National Mall and is a focal point of the National Cherry Blossom Festival held each spring. The Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, and the George Mason Memorial are situated adjacent to the Tidal Basin. The basin covers an area of about 107 acres (43 ha) and is 10 feet (3.0 m) deep.

Blue Ridge Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Toccoa River in Fannin County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is the uppermost of four dams on the Toccoa/Ocoee River owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The dam impounds the 3,300-acre (1,300 ha) Blue Ridge Lake on the southwestern fringe of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Texas Recreational Road 11

Recreational Road 11 (RE 11) is a Recreational Road located in Concho County, in the western portion of the U.S. state of Texas. The highway is approximately 4.3 miles (6.9 km) in length, and connects a recreational area on the O.H. Ivie Reservoir to Farm to Market Road 1929 (FM 1929). The roadway travels through mainly rural areas along the coast of the lake. Segments of road first appeared in the location of RE 11 around 1940. Portions of the highway were designated as part of Ranch to Market Road 2134 (RM 2134) in 1953, but was removed as part of that highway due to the construction of the O.H. Ivie Reservoir. RE 11 was designated in December 1996.

Lannius is an unincorporated community in eastern Fannin County, Texas. It is located near the intersection of US 82 and FM 897, to the north of Dodd City.
