Bonivital Flames, formerly known as the St. Boniface-St. Vital Soccer Association, was founded in 1979 as a youth development and casual senior league program serving south-east Winnipeg. Today, the Bonivital Flames are a semi-professional soccer team based in the Saint Vital neighbourhood in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. The club supports both men's and women's programs and is an inaugural member of the Prairies Premier League that begins play in May of 2026. [1] The men's team previously played for the United Soccer League’s Premier Development League, beginning with their first official semi-pro season in 2011. [2] The women's team previously played in the premier division of the Winnipeg Women's Soccer League. [3] The club plays at a turf field installed at St. Vital Memorial Park, which was originally built as a training facility for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. [4] The Bonivital Flames have won 80 Manitoba Soccer Association Cup championships across all competitive divisions as of 2026. Former players have gone on to complete at the University level in Canada and at the NCAA level in the United States. [5]
