Allsång på Skansen is a Swedish show held at Skansen, Stockholm, every summer on Tuesdays between 8pm and 9pm. The audience is encouraged to sing along with musical guest stars to well-known Swedish and international songs. The show started in 1935 on a small scale; about 50 people in the audience. Today, about 10,000–25,500 people come to each performance.
Barbro Margareta Svensson, known by her stage name Lill-Babs, was a Swedish singer, actress and television host. From the early 1950s until her death in 2018, she was one of Sweden's best-known and popular singers. The Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal is an annual award "for the most significant Swedish sports achievement of the year". It has been awarded by a jury led by the Swedish morning paper Svenska Dagbladet since 1925. According to its statutes the Medal may be awarded in November or December to either an individual sportsperson or a team. An individual can be awarded the Medal no more than twice, and to receive a second medal, that athlete must be "regarded a class of his own".

The Swedish participating broadcaster, Sveriges Television (SVT), selected its entry through Melodifestivalen 2016. In addition, SVT was also the host broadcaster and staged the event at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, after winning the previous edition with the song "Heroes" performed by Måns Zelmerlöw.
Fröken Frimans krig is a Swedish drama television series that first aired on SVT in December 2013 for three episodes during the Christmas and New Years weekend. Sissela Kyle plays women's rights advocate Dagmar Friman, a fictitious version of Anna Whitlock, who in 1905 founded the consumer cooperative Svenska hem. The series is written by Pernilla Oljelund, and is based partly on the book Svenska Hem – en passionerad affär (2005) by Monika Björk and Eva Kaijser. Following the success of the series, the book was re-released in 2013 under the name Svenska Hem – Den sanna historien om Fröken Frimans krig. Fröken Frimans krig is directed by Mikael Hellström and produced by Maria Nordenberg. A second season aired in December 2015, again for the Christmas and New Years weekend, with three more episodes. A third season aired in December 2016, and the fourth season aired in December 2017, with three more episodes each.

Morden i Sandhamn is a Swedish television crime drama series. It is based on the book series of the same name by writer, Viveca Sten, with later seasons set in Sten's fictional universe. The series is broadcast on TV4, which has presented nine seasons from 20 December 2010. The series follows Nora Linde, a lawyer who owns a summer house on Sandhamn, and her assistance in solving various murders on or near that island. Portraying Nora's children, Simon and Anna, are real-life siblings, Lion Monn and Ping Monn, respectively. The first six seasons featured Thomas Andreasson of the Nacka police as the lead detective. From season seven, Alexander Forsman is the new lead detective.
Solsidan is a 2017 Swedish comedy-drama film directed by Felix and Måns Herngren, based on the Solsidan TV-series. Primarily set in Saltsjöbaden, Nacka, the film follows the same general cast as the Solsidan TV-series: Alexander and Anna Löfström, who has recently divorced, their friends Ove and Annette Sundberg, who searches for a sperm donor after finding out that Ove is sterile, and the Schiller family, consisting of Fredrik "Fredde", Mikaela "Mickan", their son Victor, and their daughter Ebba, who travels to Torekov, Skåne, to visit Fredde's estranged father, Mauritz.
The Bjorck Family is a 1940 Swedish comedy film directed by Anders Henrikson and starring Olof Winnerstrand, Frida Winnerstrand and Birgitta Arman. It was shot at the Centrumateljéerna Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arthur Spjuth. It was based on a radio show of the same name that ran from 1936 to 1943.
