Borobudur Writers and Cultural Festival (BWCF) is an annual meet for fiction and nonfiction writers, content creators, culture activist dan and inter religion with theme to stimulate the participants to realize the uniqueness and richness of various literary, artistic and religious thoughts in the archipelago. [lower-alpha 1] The opening of this international scale event was held in 2012 and took place in Yogyakarta, and Borobudur Magelang for the other event. [lower-alpha 2] BWCF Participants consists of writers, writers, musicians, dancers, artists, reporters, historians, sociologists, archaeologists, philologists, anthropologists, scientists, humanists and theologians. For two full days, participants were invited to discuss, attend symposiums, attend workshop classes, attend book launches, read temple relief tours, yoga and meditation classes in the courtyard of the Borobudur Temple, watching film screenings, and watching art performances at Aksobya Square. [lower-alpha 3] At the end of the event, BWCF handed over Sang Hyang Kamahayanikan Award to leaders, individuals or groups, who were seen as having a major contribution in the field of arts - culture and humanities in the community. Magelang is one of six cities in the Central Java Province of Indonesia that are administratively independent of the regencies in which they lie geographically. Each of these cities is governed by a mayor rather than a bupati. Magelang City covers an area of 18.56 km2 and had a population of 118,227 at the 2010 census and 121,526 at the 2020 census; the official estimate as at mid-2023 was 122,150. It is geographically located in the middle of the Magelang Regency, between Mount Merbabu and Mount Sumbing in the south of the province, and lies 43 km north of Yogyakarta, 15 km north of Mungkid and 75 km south of Semarang, the capital of Central Java.
Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport is an airport serving the city of Semarang, in Central Java, Indonesia. The airport is named in honor of Ahmad Yani (1922–1965), who is a National Hero of Indonesia. As of 2018, it was one of the fastest-growing airports in the world by growth percentage. The airport is operated by PT Angkasa Pura I, a state enterprise of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation that manages airports in the eastern part of the country.
Piala Indonesia is the professional annual cup competition for football clubs in Indonesia. Its origins date back to the start of the semi-professional football era in 1985 as Piala Liga, which ran until 1989 under Galatama competition. Yogyakarta International Airport is an international airport located at Temon district of Kulon Progo Regency, in Java, Indonesia. The airport is situated around 45 km (28 mi) from the city of Yogyakarta, which serves the Yogyakarta Special Region, as well as nearby Central Javan cities such as Purworejo, Kebumen, Cilacap and Magelang. It is the largest and one of the three airports in the Yogyakarta Special Region, the other being Adisutjipto Airport which is located closer to the Yogyakarta city center and Gading Airfield in Wonosari, Gunung Kidul Regency. The airport serves flights to and from several cities and towns in Indonesia and some international destinations such as Malaysia and Singapore.
A Borobudur ship is an 8th to 9th-century wooden double outrigger sailing vessel of Maritime Southeast Asia, depicted in some bas-reliefs of the Borobudur Buddhist monument in Central Java, Indonesia. It is a ship of the Javanese people, and derivative vessels of similar size continued to be used in East Java coastal trade at least until the 1940s.
Mereka Bilang, Saya Monyet! is a 2008 Indonesian film directed by Djenar Maesa Ayu. Starring Titi Rajo Bintang, Henidar Amroe, and Ray Sahetapi, it tells the life story of Adjeng, who was sexually abused as a child by her mother's boyfriend. Filmed over 18 days after several years of development, the film adapted two of Ayu's short stories from her debut anthology of the same name. Owing to its low budget of Rp 620 million, its cast and crew were mostly amateurs and students, although several established actors appeared at reduced rates.

Sang Hyang Kamahayanikan is part of the prose literature of the Javanese people. This Tantric Buddhist treatise describes Javanese Buddhism, architecture, and iconography. The back side of this literature contains the name of the Javanese king, i.e. Mpu Sindok, which is throned at East Java from 929 to 947 CE.
Philipus Joko Pinurbo, commonly known by the nickname Jokpin, was an Indonesian poet. His works were deemed innovative for their use of humour and everyday objects, as well as simple language, to touch on contemporary social issues.
