Botswana competed at the inaugural African Beach Games in Sal, Cape Verde from 14 to 23 June 2019. In total athletes representing Botswana won one silver medal and three bronze medals. [1] All medals were won in karate. The country finished in 13th place in the medal table. [1]

The 10th All-Africa Games took place between September 3–18, 2011 in Maputo, Mozambique. Maputo's hosting marked the third time the Games was held in the southern part of the continent.
California Molefe is a Botswana runner who won a silver medal in 400 metres at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Moscow, becoming the first Botswana athlete to win a major international medal.
Gable Garenamotse is a Botswana long jumper, who has won two silver medals at the Commonwealth Games.
Kabelo Mmono is a high jumper from Botswana. He won gold medals at the All-Africa Games and the African Championships in Athletics. When he won gold representing Botswana at the 2003 All-Africa Games, his medal ceremony was memorable for his impromptu solo rendition of the national anthem.
The athletics competition at the 2007 All-Africa Games was held on the Stade 5 Juillet 1962 in Algiers, Algeria between 18 July and 22 July 2007. Nigeria was the most successful nation of the competition having won nine golds and 24 medals in total. South Africa was a close second with seven golds and also a total of 24 medals overall. Tunisia and Botswana were the next most successful, although Ethiopia and Kenya had greater medal hauls.
Amantle Montsho is a female sprinter from Botswana who specializes in the 400 metres. She represented her country at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics, reaching the final at the latter edition. She was the first woman to represent Botswana at the Olympics. She has also competed at the World Championships in Athletics and the IAAF World Indoor Championships, and is the former World Champion over the 400m, winning in a personal best time of 49.56 in Daegu.
Botswana National Olympic Committee is the National Olympic Committee representing Botswana. It is also the body responsible for Botswana's representation at the Commonwealth Games.
Nijel Carlos Amilfitano Amos is a Botswanan middle-distance runner who competes in the 800 metres. He won silver at the 2012 Summer Olympics, which was Botswana's first ever Olympic medal.

Johanita Scholtz is a South African badminton player. Scholtz won her first senior international title at the 2017 Botswana International tournament. She competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. She was the women's singles gold medalist at the 2019 African Games, also won bronze medals in the team and women's doubles events.
Egypt competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total 297 athletes were expected to represent Egypt at the games. This later increased to 330 athletes. Athletes representing the country won 102 gold medals, 98 silver medals and 73 bronze medals and the country finished 1st in the medal table.
