Boyish is an indie rock duo that got its start in Boston before relocating to New York City in 2019. [2] The group currently consists of lead vocalist India Shore, vocalist and guitar player Claire Altendahl. [3]
The band was formed by Shore and Altendahl for an audition at Berklee College of Music under the moniker The Blue before changing their name to Boyish. [4] They have released two studio albums to date: Carnation and Garden Spider. The former was nominated for an Independent Music Awards, [5] featured in the New Yorker, [6] and now streamed over 1 million times. The single 'FUCK YOU HEATHER' from Garden Spider premiered on Atwood Magazine and was played over 3,500,000 times on Spotify. [7] In February 2021, Boyish released "Superstar" the first track off their upcoming EP We're all going to die, but here's my contribution, which was released on May 28, 2021 with four tracks. [8] It received positive write-ups from Lyrical Lemonade, Highclouds, and Atwood Magazine. Additionally, the song currently has over 1,600,000 streams and was added to several editorial playlists such as Lorem, All New Indie, Indie Pop & Chill, and Fresh Finds. On May 27, 2022, Boyish released EP My Friend Mica, which was preceded by singles "Smithereens," "Congratulations," and "I Think I Hate It Here." Shore and Altendahl said of their inspiration of the project, "we didn’t have a concept beyond what was happening in our lives at the time" and "The whole EP is like one long journal entry, or a stream of consciousness of the past year. We really tried to take the emotions we were currently wrestling with and direct them into these songs". [9]
In June 2023, Boyish released a single titled "Kill Your Pain", featuring King Princess. [10] They went on to join her as the opening act for her European tour.

One Day as a Lion was an alternative rock supergroup that was started in 2009 by Zack de la Rocha, the vocalist of Rage Against the Machine, and Jon Theodore, former drummer of The Mars Volta and then-current drummer of Queens of the Stone Age. The duo blended elements of rock and hip hop. One Day as a Lion released their eponymous debut EP in July 2008 on the Anti- label. The band's name comes from a quote by Benito Mussolini: "It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep."
The Amity Affliction is an Australian post-hardcore band from Gympie, Queensland, formed in 2003. The band's current line-up consists of Joel Birch, Ahren Stringer, Dan Brown (guitar) and Joe Longobardi (drums). The Amity Affliction has released eight studio albums including Severed Ties (2008), Youngbloods (2010), Chasing Ghosts (2012), Let the Ocean Take Me (2014), This Could Be Heartbreak (2016), Misery (2018) and Everyone Loves You... Once You Leave Them (2020). They are known for their highly personal songs, often dealing with depression, anxiety, death, substance abuse, and suicide, many lyrics stemming from vocalist Joel Birch's past struggles. The Amity Affliction released their latest album, Not Without My Ghosts, in 2023.

San Fermin is an American indie rock collective, led by Brooklyn-based composer and songwriter Ellis Ludwig-Leone. The band has also released four EPs. Since 2011, no original members remain in the band.

Their musical inclinations appear to be firmly rooted in the UK, drawing inspiration from notable artists such as Little Comets and King Krule. They are signed to Psychic Hotline in the United States and Transgressive Records in the United Kingdom. The band has performed at South by Southwest, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Summerfest and Reading and Leeds Festivals, Hinterland Music Festival, as well as on Conan. Hippo Campus were named one of NPR Music's favorite new artists of 2017.
Armond Arabshahi, known by his stage name Unlike Pluto, is an American singer, songwriter, music producer, and former DJ. He is mainly known for his song "Everything Black", released under the record label Monstercat in 2017, which he produced with Philadelphia-based vocalist and DJ Mike Taylor. He is also known for his Pluto Tapes series of albums, a project he started on May 30, 2018, where he challenges himself to release one song per week, experimenting with different genres and developing his style. Besides the Pluto Tapes, he also has a side project called Why Mona with stage actress and singer, Joanna Jones. Another side project of his is Like Saturn, where he produces relaxing and emotional Lofi instrumentals.

"Superstar" is a song by Welsh singer and songwriter Marina from her fourth studio album, Love + Fear (2019). The song was written by Marina, Ben Berger, Ryan McMahon, and Ryan Rabin, while produced by Sam de Jong and Captain Cuts. It was released for digital download and streaming as the album's second single on 1 March 2019 by Atlantic Records. Marina cited the song as a result of the creative freedom she demanded, lacking from her previous albums, when creating it. It is a synth-pop and electro ballad that was often compared to other releases in Marina's catalogue. A love song, the lyrics describe a couple who have worked hard to achieve a desirable relationship.
