The Brabant Center for Music Tradiations (Dutch: Brabants Centrum voor Muziektradities) is a museum and folk music center in Kampenhout in Flemish Brabant, Belgium. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
The center maintains a study and documentation center with around one thousand publications on traditional folk music in Flanders and the rest of Europe. [7] [8] During the year several changing thematic expositions are shown, next to the permanent musical instrument collection of violin and bagpipes player Hubert Boone , a collection of photographs of musicians and musical instruments and some music recordings. [8]
The collection of Boone plays an important role in the center. [7] As a scientific contributor he was affiliated to the Musical Instrument Museum of Brussels. He produced a variety of works on local music history and folk musical instruments. [8] He was a key member of the folk dance group De Vlier and the ensemble Limbrant. [7]
The center was inaugurated in the Glass Hall (Glazen Zaal) on 4 December 2011, in attendance of prominent Flemish music administrators and the mayor of Kampenhout. On this day an exhibition started on the society of the hummel instrument from the town Sint-Martens-Lennik, and live music was played by the MandolinMan Quartet. [8]

Kampenhout is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Berg, Buken, Kampenhout proper and Nederokkerzeel. On 1 January 2006 Kampenhout had a total population of 10,956. The total area is 33.49 km² which gives a population density of 327 inhabitants per km².

Jaap Kunst was a Dutch musicologist. He is credited with coining the term "ethnomusicology" as a more accurate name for the field then known as comparative musicology. Kunst studied the folk music of the Netherlands and of Indonesia. His published work totals more than 70 texts.
Liliane Saint-Pierre is a Belgian pop singer. Hailing from Flanders, she sings mostly in Dutch. She competed at Eurovision Song Contest 1987 with the song "Soldiers of Love".

Lodewijk Mortelmans was a Belgian composer and conductor of Flemish ancestry. Sometimes called de Vlaamse Brahms, Mortelmans composed in a number of forms, including piano music and orchestral works, but he was most celebrated in his day for his art songs. Beginning in 1899, he often set the poetry of the priest Guido Gezelle. His opera De Kinderen der Zee was first produced in 1920 at the Vlaamse Opera.
Eurosonic Noorderslag is an annual four-day music showcase festival and conference held in January in Groningen, Netherlands. The first three days of the festival (Eurosonic) feature artists from all over Europe, the last day of the festival (Noorderslag) features only Dutch artists. The conference is held during all four days of the event. Several awards are presented during Eurosonic Noorderslag: the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards, the European Festivals Awards, the Buma Cultuur Pop Award (Popprijs), the Pop Media Award, The Feather, the "Iron Venue and Festival Animals" and the Buma Music Meets Tech Award.
Luc Rombouts is a Belgian carillonneur and author. He is the city carillonneur of Tienen in Flemish Brabant. He is also the official carillonneur of both Leuven University carillons and the Park Abbey. He has given numerous concerts in Europe en the USA and appeared in festivals and conventions. Together with Twan Bearda he performs in a carillon duet called The Bells' Angels, exploring, expanding and performing four hand carillon repertoire.
The Vleeshuis in Antwerp, Belgium is a former guildhall. It is now a museum located between the Drie Hespenstraat, the Repenstraat and the Vleeshouwersstraat. The slope where the Drie Hespenstraat meets the Burchtgracht used to be known as the Bloedberg or Blood Mountain.

The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra is the symphony orchestra of Flanders (Belgium), based in the Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp.
