Brady Road Landfill is a landfill in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. [1]
The Brandy Road Landfill is a sprawling [2] municipal landfill located on 1777 Brady Road, on the outskirts of Winnipeg. [3] [4]
The landfill caught fire in 2012. [5] In 2013, the City of Winnipeg began capturing methane from the landfill originally using 42 gas well, [2] expanding to 63 in 2017. [6] One of the pipes broke in June 2018, preventing the flaring of the gas captured from three of the wells. [6]
In 2015, user fees at the landfill increased from a minimum of $11 to $15. [7] In 2016, the landfill expanded services to support composting, reuse and recycling of waste. [8]
In June 2022, police identified the remains of homicide victim Rebecca Contois in the landfill. [9] A member of the O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi First Nation, Contois was one of several victims of the 2022 Winnipeg serial killings. [9] [10] That year, the landfill was the only landfill in Winnipeg. [1]
In 2023, Camp Morgan was created blocking access to the landfill, as public calls to search the nearby Prairie Green landfill for the remains of suspected homicide victims Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran. [11]

The landfill, located in the District of Saanich on the southern slope of Mount Work, between Victoria and Sidney, at the end of Hartland Avenue is adjacent to Mount Work Regional Park to the west and the Department of National Defence rifle range is located across Willis Point Road to the northeast. To the east and southeast of the site are residential properties. Undeveloped CRD property lies to the west and south of the landfill site and is now being used by CRD Parks as a mountain bike recreation area under a land use agreement. Private residential properties exist to the east and southeast of the landfill.

On December 1, 2022, Jeremy Skibicki was charged for the murders of four Indigenous Canadian women: Rebecca Contois, Morgan Harris, Marcedes Myran, and an unidentified woman referred to as Mashkode Bizhiki'ikwe. The murders were thought to have been committed between the months of March and May 2022.
