Brainwashed is the second studio album by British metalcore band While She Sleeps. It was released on 23 March 2015 through Search and Destroy Records. The album was produced by Carl Bown.

Release and promotion

Four tracks taken from the album were revealed prior to release, each with accompanying videos that were available to download instantly from iTunes. "New World Torture", [1] "Four Walls" (premiered exclusively on Gigwise ), [2] "Trophies of Violence" [3] and "Our Legacy". [4] To support the album, the band embarked on a co-headline tour with Cancer Bats in April 2015, while also playing 2015's Warped Tour.

The album received positive reviews from critics. Tony Bliss from Dead Press! rated the album positively calling it: "Brainwashed is a rallying call, harnessing the intense power of all their past personal pressure and recapturing that thrumming, era defining vitality which sees them remain scene kingpins. We can tell that While She Sleeps have come back from the very brink, and they sound all the more unified for it. A more than welcome return." [5]

The album was included at number 27 on Rock Sound's top 50 releases of 2015 list. [10]

While She Sleeps are a British metalcore band from Sheffield. Formed in 2006, the group consists of vocalist Lawrence Taylor, guitarists Sean Long and Mat Welsh, bassist Aaran McKenzie and drummer Adam Savage. They are currently signed to their own label Sleeps Brothers in the UK and in collaboration with Spinefarm Records in the US and UNFD in Australia. They have released three EPs, And This Is Just the Start, Split and The North Stands for Nothing, and five studio albums, This Is the Six, Brainwashed, You Are We, So What? and Sleeps Society. They received the Best British Newcomer award at the Kerrang! Awards 2012. The group has maintained the same line-up since its formation, with vocalist Taylor being the only bandmate who is not an original member. Despite this, he has still appeared on every release apart from the group's first two EPs.

This Is the Six is the debut studio album by British metalcore band While She Sleeps. It was released on 13 August 2012 through Search and Destroy Records. The album was produced by Carl Bown. Preparation for the album began in late 2010 to early 2011, with recording beginning on 1 November 2011 and wrapping up in February 2012. The title track "This Is the Six" was released as the first single from the album on 13 May 2012. The band have stated that the album will showcase a more polished and progressive sound than their previous material. The album debuted at #27 on the UK Album Chart.
