Branch Warren is an American retired IFBB Pro League professional bodybuilder. [1]
Warren was born in Tyler, Texas. He grew up on a cattle ranch and later moved to Fort Worth, Texas. [2]
Warren placed second at the 2009 Mr. Olympia, the closest he came to winning the competition. His best wins came when he won both the 2011 and 2012 Arnold Classic competitions. [3] [4] [5] [6] He was previously sponsored by MuscleTech and Gaspari Nutrition. He often trains with Johnnie Jackson at the Metroflex Gym in Arlington, Texas, having also trained with Janae Kroc. [7] He retired in 2015, [8] and is now the founder and owner of a beef jerky company called Wicked Cutz Jerky. [9]
Warren is married to a fellow bodybuilder named Trish. [10] Their daughter, Faith Lea, was born on February 6, 2012. [10]
Mr. Olympia is the title awarded to the winner of the professional men's bodybuilding contest in the open division at Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend—an international bodybuilding competition that is held annually and is sanctioned by the IFBB Professional League. Joe Weider created the contest to enable the amateur Mr. Universe winners to continue competing and to earn money. The first Mr. Olympia was held on September 18, 1965, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York City, with Larry Scott winning his first of two straight titles. The equivalent female title is Ms. Olympia.
