Brandon Maxwell (born March 22, 1991) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for EC Kassel Huskies of the DEL2. He was drafted 154th overall in the sixth round by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, but went unsigned.

Playing career

Maxwell took the AHMMPL junior league, where he defended the Cambridge Hawks during the 2006–07 season, through the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he was a member of the U17 and U18 national team. In both age categories, he captured the 2008 World U18 Championship tournament and has won the bronze medal. [1] From 2009 to 2012, he worked in the Canadian junior league, the Ontario Hockey League (Kitchener Rangers, Sarnia Sting, Mississauga St. Michael's Majors). During the 2012–13 season, he played hockey at the University of Guelph and also tried the Ukrainian Hockey League team, the Berkut Kyiv. The following year he spent in the Swedish Hockey League, where he captured 40 games for Rögle BK.

In the 2014–15 season, when he had one for Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, he was approached by the HC Vítkovice. Maxwell, however, despite his good introduction to the Ostrava region, did not last long. He played five games with a g.a.a of 3.73 and a sv% of .853 Otherwise, he usually was on the bench . After a year in [Vítkovice], he left, but he remained in the Czech Extraliga. Before the start of the 2015–16 season, the [HC Dynamo Pardubice] signed him. Even though he was only playing in his first season in eastern Bohemia, he was one of their best players throughout the season.

He has also captured a total of 144 matches in the Czech Extraliga with a G.A.A of 2.42 and a Sv% .918 with 11 shutouts. He then moved as a free agent to play in Austria where he was a star for Villacher SV. Maxwell then moved to neighbouring Germany, featuring in parts of three seasons with the Fischtown Penguins of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).

During the 2022–23 season, having posted 8 wins through 12 appearances with the Fischtown Pinguins, Maxwell left the club to sign a contract with Swedish top flight club, Malmö Redhawks, on January 6, 2023, providing cover for injured starting goaltender Daniel Marmenlind. [2] Maxwell collected 3 wins through 10 appearances with the Redhawks before leaving at the conclusion of his short-term contract.

As a free agent, Maxwell returned to Germany in securing a one-year deal with EC Kassel Huskies of the DEL2 on May 4, 2023. [3]

Maxwell was a member of the United States team that competed at the 2018 Winter Olympics. [4] [5]

Although Maxwell competes for the United States internationally, he holds dual citizenship with both the US and Canada. [6]

The 2013–14 season was Malmö Redhawks's seventh consecutive season in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system. The regular season began on 12 September 2013 away against IF Björklöven, and finished on 4 March 2014 home against Timrå IK. The team finished in first place in the regular season and thus qualified for play in the 2014 Kvalserien. The Redhawks finished in fourth place in Kvalserien, this means that the club stayed in HockeyAllsvenskan for the 2014–15 season.

The 2014 Kvalserien was the 40th and final Kvalserien, consisting of two Swedish Hockey League teams and four HockeyAllsvenskan teams. It began on 17 March 2014 and will end on 7 April 2014. The 2014 Kvalserien determined which two teams of the participating ones would play in the 2014–15 SHL season and which four teams would play in the 2014–15 HockeyAllsvenskan season. Örebro HK defended their SHL spot and Djurgårdens IF returned to the top-tier league after a two-year stint in HockeyAllsvenskan. AIK were relegated to HockeyAllsvenskan.

The 2013–14 DEL2 season was the first season of operation for the DEL2. Replacing the 2nd Bundesliga, this league represents the second-level of ice hockey in Germany, below the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). The league operated with 12 teams during the 2013–14 season. The inaugural champions were the Fischtown Pinguins.

The 2014–15 DEL2 season was the second season of operation for the DEL2. Replacing the 2nd Bundesliga, this league represents the second-level of ice hockey in Germany, below the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). The league operated with 14 teams during the 2014–15 season.

Marek Langhamer is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender, currently playing for Malmö Redhawks in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

The 2014–15 season was Malmö Redhawks's eight consecutive season in the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system. The regular season began on 11 September 2014 at home against IF Björklöven, and concluded on 28 February 2015 at home against AIK. The team finished in third place in the regular season and thus qualified for play in the 2015 Slutspelsserien. Malmö Redhawks finished in third place in Slutspelsserien and qualified for Direktkval till SHL against Leksands IF. The team won the series 4–3 after defeating Leksand in the final game of the series. Malmö Redhawks were therefore promoted to the SHL for the 2015–16 season.

The 2014–15 Czech Extraliga season is the 22nd season of the Czech Extraliga since its creation after the breakup of Czechoslovakia and the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League in 1993.

The 2015–16 DEL2 season was the third season since the founding of the DEL2, the second tier of German ice hockey, set below the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Emma-Sofie Mohrsen Nordstrøm is a Swedish-Danish ice hockey goaltender and member of the Danish national team, currently playing with the St. Lawrence Saints women's ice hockey program in the ECAC Hockey conference of the NCAA Division I.
