Early life

Brandon Pertzborn was born in Grapevine, Texas where he started playing the drums at the age of 14. He took his first drumming lessons at school, but soon dropped out to learn on his own. [2] Within a few years he joined several bands with friends. [2] After playing the drums for a few years, Pertzborn began teaching drums at multiple music schools in the area. [2]

Career

Black Flag, Doyle and Ho99o9

In 2014 Pertzborn received a e-mail from Black Flag's Greg Ginn, who, after seeing a number of videos, asked him if he wanted to audition. The band went on tour in 2015 and was the opening act for the band Doyle. As a result, Pertzborn received a call from the band offering him to join Doyle. Pertzborn accepted the offer and joined Doyle. Immediately after touring with Doyle, he recorded the drums for Doyle's upcoming album, Doyle II: As We Die. [3] Throughout 2016, the band continued to tour and he also began playing drums for the band Ho9909 (pronounced as horror). In 2016 he toured Europe with Ho99o9 and played many festivals such as Download and Primavera in addition to touring the US, Canada and UK. In January 2017, Pertzborn toured the UK with Ho99o9 as direct support for Dillinger Escape Plan and immediately toured through Europe with Doyle. [4] He spent the rest of the year touring the US with Doyle, then returned to Europe with Ho99o9.

Corey Taylor and Marilyn Manson

In 2019, Pertzborn played as a touring drummer with Corey Taylor, then joined Marilyn Manson and recorded the drum tracks for the album We Are Chaos (2020). [5]

Limp Bizkit and Suicidal Tendencies

In 2021 Pertzborn played as a touring drummer with Limp Bizkit, then joined Suicidal Tendencies as a replacement for Dave Lombardo, who had left the band due to commitments with other bands (including Mr. Bungle and Testament). In April 2023, Pertzborn announced that he would be leaving Suicidal Tendencies and would be replaced by Greyson Nekrutman. [6]

The Offspring

In May 2023, Pertzborn announced himself as the new drummer for The Offspring. After Josh Freese (who was their touring drummer) was no longer able to tour with the band full-time as he joined the Foo Fighters, with Pertzborn becoming the official replacement for Pete Parada, who was fired in August 2021 for failing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. [6] [7] Due to Pertzborn joining The Offspring full-time, he was unable to perform with Ho99o9 and had to leave this band.

Personal life

Pertzborn has been married to Emily Vallely (the daughter of Black Flag singer and professional skateboarder Mike Vallely) since October 8, 2022.
