Winter Paralympics appearances (overview)

Brazil sent competitors to the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The team included one man and one woman. Both people competed in para-Nordic skiing. Aline Rocha is the first woman to be part of the Brazilian team at the Winter Paralympics. It is the second time Brazil went to the Winter Paralympics. They first went in 2014 to the Winter Paralympics in Sochi.

Brazil sent two people to Pyeongchang for the 2018 Winter Paralympics. [1] The team included Aline Rocha. She is the first woman to be part of the Brazilian team at the Winter Paralympics. [1] [2] [3] [4] The country wanted to send five people to South Korea. [1] They had the right to two spots in December 2017. One spot was for a man and one spot was for a woman. [1]

The country's best performance in any event was 15th, achieved by Rocha in the 15 km sitting competition.

This was the nations' fourth appearance at a Summer Paralympic Games since it made its debut at the 2004 Athens Summer Paralympics. Cape Verde was represented by two athletes in Rio de Janeiro: sprinter Gracelino Barbosa and javelin thrower Márcio Fernandes, who qualified for the Games by meeting the qualification standards of their events. Barbosa won the country's first Paralympic medal with his third-place finish in the men's 400 metres T20 competition and Fernandes came ninth in the F44 men's javelin event.

Susana Schnarndorf Ribeiro is a Brazilian Paralympic swimmer. In 2005, after a lengthy triathlon career, at the age of 37, Schnarndorf began to experience the first symptoms of a mysterious degenerative disease that was later diagnosed as multiple system atrophy (MSA). After a break from professional athletics, Schnarndorf returned to the sports world as a swimmer and is presently a member of the Brazilian Paralympic Swimming Team.

Argentina sent competitors to the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The people were Carles Codina and Enrique Plantey. Codina competed in para-snowboarding. Plantey competed in para-alpine skiing.
