Breezy Bishop

Barbara Jude "Breezy" Bishop was born September 7, 1935. girls' basketball coach at Western Senior High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She built one of the nation's top high school programs during 24 seasons at Western. Bishop was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.

Early life

She had three brothers who served in the Army, Navy, and Marines. Her grandmother knew that Breezy would make her contribution to sports. In her early teen years, her mother and grandmother were concerned because she always played sports with the boys in her neighborhood. They were so concerned that they sent Breezy to Girl Scout camp. It increased her curiosity in other sports like swimming, hiking, and canoeing.

In high school, she played basketball, softball, and track and field. Breezy wanted to major in physical education in college but she did not have the support from her father so he did not help her out financially. She later dropped out of college after two years.

Kim Mulkey Basketball player and coach

Kimberly Duane Mulkey is the head women's basketball coach at LSU. A Pan-American gold medalist in 1983 and Olympic gold medalist in 1984, she became the first person in NCAA women's basketball history to win a national championship as a player, assistant coach, and head coach. She won three NCAA championships as the coach of Baylor in 2005, 2012, and 2019. Mulkey was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020 and was also inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame as part of the "legendary class" of 2020.

Coquese Makebra Washington is a former collegiate and professional basketball player and former head coach of Penn State's women's basketball team, the Lady Lions. She is currently the associate head coach at Notre Dame. Washington holds a law degree and was the first president of the WNBA Players Association, holding that position from 1999 to 2001. She played high school basketball at Flint Central High School and collegiate basketball at the University of Notre Dame.

Western High School is the oldest public all-girls high school remaining in the United States. It is the third-oldest public high school in the state of Maryland and part of the Baltimore City Public Schools. Western High was named a "National Blue Ribbon School" of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009 and a "Silver Medal High School" by the news magazine U.S. News and World Report in 2012.

Marsha Sharp

Marsha Sharp is the former head coach of Texas Tech University's women's basketball team, the Lady Raiders. She retired after 24 years at the conclusion of the 2005–06 season. Sharp was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.

Theresa Shank Grentz, is a long-time coach, most recently, the head coach of the women's basketball program at Lafayette College. She has also served as the head coach of the women's basketball programs at the University of Illinois, Rutgers University and St. Josephs. She is a member of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
